History

In the future, while Elroy is busy working on a time machine, George Jetson arrives at Mr. Spacely's office for a serious discussion. Spacely's rival Cogswell stole Spacely's business ideas, putting their jobs at risk. Spacely wrongly blames George, suspecting he was spying on Cogswell's behalf. Spacely orders George to spy on Cogswell to clear his name and avoid getting fired. George discovers that Cogswell's robotic computer SARA has seduced Spacely's robotic computer RUDI into leaking Mr. Spacely's secrets. George tries to report it to Spacely, but RUDI sabotages his efforts.

In the Stone Age, Wilma and Betty are trying to get Fred Flintstone to spend their vacation in Honolurock (Honolulu), but Fred ignores their efforts. Later, at work, Fred tells Barney Rubble that he plans to go on vacation to an even better place and that he wants to participate in a poker tournament at the Water Buffalo lodge. However, Mr. Slate shows up and informs the two that they have to work late because they are going on vacation, and Turk Tarpit, Slate's business rival, has overtaken them. Fred and Barney disobey Slate's orders and go to the poker tournament. However, after seeing that Slate is also playing there, they disguise themselves to not be recognized. Fred plays against Slate but loses. A spider exposes Barney and eventually Fred. Furious that they tricked and disobeyed him, Slate fires Fred and Barney.

In the future, Elroy completes her time machine. The Jetsons decide to use it to take a trip to the 25th century to relax. Just before Elroy puts the car into operation, his dog Astro accidentally sets the switch to "Past".

Out of work, the Flintstones and the Rubbles are forced to settle for a camping holiday. While Fred and Barney set up the tent, the Jetsons come from the future. Fred and George eventually communicate and the families become friends. Fred is amazed by George's futuristic gadgets and decides to use them to help Mr. Slate in a competition at the next company picnic. Fred introduces George to Slate, claiming that George is a distant cousin. Slate is initially reluctant to trust George, but since the rival businessman, Turk Tarpit's deception has rejected him, Slate accepts their help in exchange for getting their job back. George and Fred use future technology to help Slate win several games, but in the latest event, Astro and Dino's actions make Tarpit the winner. Eventually, Slate fires Fred and Barney once again.

While Mr. Spacely continues to romp about his failing business, Henry Orbit and Rosie the Robot Maid assemble a "time machine retriever" to bring the Jetsons back. But when they turn it on, the time machine returns with the Flintstones instead. After seeing that they are indeed cavemen, Spacely introduces them to the press.

Stuck in the past, George asks Mr. Slate for a job. Slate initially refuses, but when Tarpit offers George a job, Slate immediately makes George his partner and George soon becomes famous. Using their newfound fame and wealth, the Jetsons buy more local businesses and are soon overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Mr. Spacely names Fred as his company spokesperson, but RUDI leaks this information to SARA.When Spacely introduces Fred to some major investors, Cogswell introduces Barney instead, leading to a rift in Fred and Barney's friendship. Meanwhile, Rosie asks RUDI to help Henry and her try to fix the time machine to find the Jetsons. SARA appears and demands that RUDI get rid of Rosie before she leaves, but RUDI agrees to do whatever it takes to get the Jetsons back and leaves SARA forever. They fix the time machine and Rosie is transported to the Stone Age where she finds her family.

Now able to return home, the Jetsons leave, taking Fred's car with them, after Judy says goodbye to teenage idol, Iggy. Mr. Spacely devises a plan to use Fred's car as a model for futuristic replicas. Cogswell sends her robotic dog Sentro to steal this information since SARA is no longer useful when she tells him that RUDI broke up with her and scolded her. The two families manage to stop Sentro, destroying the evidence he had collected. Spacely's business of selling Stone Age cars is successful and he even agrees to sell one to Cogswell. However, Spacely warns Cogswell that if he copies a portion of it, Spacely will sue him and take care of his business. Fred and Barney mend their friendship, Spacely lets George keep his job, and George offers his partnership with Mr. Slate to Fred and Barney to get the job back. Just as they are about to leave for the house, Elroy tells them that the time machine is broken and cannot be repaired. Fortunately, I'm able to go back to the Stone Age because Fred's car has absorbed the "quads" of the time machine. The Flintstones and Rubbles then greet the Jetsons fondly and are sent back to the Stone Age.
