The results of the 24 ORE student competition promise a great future for animation

The challenging, competition 24 HOURS Animation Competition for Students (24-Hour Student Animation Contest) this month, she took young artists from around the world through the event's first fully virtual challenge. Remote work teams of five students each were tasked with creating a half-minute short film completely made in the infamous 24 hours based on this year's theme: “How Did This Pandemic Affect You“.

Now in its 24th year, the 24 HOURS Animation Contest for Students is hosted by Animation Professor Aubry Mintz, at California State University, Long Beach. The 2020 virtual contest was filled with official updates, snaps and behind-the-scenes videos of the 197 participating teams on the Facebook page of the competition. Competitors represented 64 schools (college and high school) 11 different countries - Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States

Mintz also announced on social media that the event set a sponsorship record this year, receiving donations of nearly $ 170.000 from 23 companies. He wrote: “We have been able to accomplish some great new things this year, including giving incredible prizes to six teams of college students and a team of high school students, purchasing equipment for students in need so that can enter the contest and also use their new tools for future online learning, hire a small staff to help take this contest to the next professional level and more!
