Batman fans were dealt a major blow earlier this year with the sudden loss of actor Kevin Conroy, best known as the definitive cartoon voice of Batman. Conroy had played Batman dozens and dozens of times in a variety of mediums: animation, video games, even a brief time live-action in The CW's adaptation of Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Conroy kept getting hired for the role because no one could get close to him. But until now, the assumption was that we'd already seen it all, and that Conroy's latest public display of the Dark Knight - sound bites for the Smash Multiversus clone video game - was the last thing he ever contributed to. But now we know that's not the case… there's one last apparition that has yet to be released.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a co-op shooter that was first revealed in 2020 during the DC FanDome. In the game, you play as the team of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Boomerang and King Shark, who have a new mission from Amanda Waller: take down Earth's greatest heroes, or else. It appears that Brainiac has completely taken over Metropolis and brainwashed the Justice League into doing his bidding. Now they are just as evil as him! Hence the option of last resort (or first result if you're someone like Waller).

Kill the Justice League it's supposed to be set in the same universe as the critically acclaimed Arkham games, which used Conroy, but his involvement in THIS wasn't a foregone conclusion until now. Four players are involved in each mission, but those that aren't controlled by your friends are AI-driven (you can switch between them if you're playing solo).

It's nice to get Conroy's latest Batman gift next year, which will make everything even more difficult if our mission is to kill him. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on May 26, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
