Seen by some as looking like an old woman and others as a young woman, she is known to use mysterious magic that helps with everything from finding lost objects to inflicting curses. When a circumstance causes the emperor to call her, their meeting will change history.

Shirakawa launched Ayuko's (The Earl & the Fairy) series of novels with illustrations in April 2018. The seventh and final volume was released on April 21st.

Seven Seas Entertainment announced at Anime Expo 2022 that it will release the series of novels in English next year.
