Tom Kenny headlines the KEPYR virtual event to help refugee children

Children's entertainment professionals for young refugees (KEPYR), the grassroots volunteer organization made up of entertainment professionals for children and families, has set November 12 for "Children's media stays up late!" - an evening full of comedies and music hosted by award-winning actors and musical artists Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob Square Pants).

Produced by Guy Tobes , the virtual fundraising event will feature sketches by Kenny and other dubbing luminaries Carlos Alazraqui, Gary Anthony Williams, Matt Danner and others, and music by Kenny and his band The High Seas, Grammy winner Lisa Loeb, and voice and recording artist Gray DeLisle. All proceeds from the event will go to support UNICEFvital for relief efforts on the US-Mexico border.

The evening will also close a month online auction of unique and rare collectibles and gifts generously donated by Mattel, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Hasbro, Spin Master, Sesame Workshop, 9 Story Media, Sinking Ship Entertainment, Boulder Media, Animation Magazine and many other companies and individuals. Tom Kenny & The Hi-Seas are a Los Angeles-based rock 'n' roll / soul / R & B band best known for “bringing the party” wherever and whenever they perform. The frontman of the Hi-Seas Band is Tom Kenny, who is the highly regarded voice actor behind the immortal SpongeBob SquarePants, The Ice King of Adventure time, many voices turned on Rick and Mortyand literally hundreds of other animated characters. He won an Emmy in 2018 for outstanding contributions to an animation program. Dave “Mustang” Lang of Hi-Seas is a composer, producer and songwriter based in Pasadena, California. He is a multi-instrumentalist who is equally at home in a funky honky-tonk or on the stage of a concert. Mustang is the musical director and arranger of Tom Kenny & the Hi-Seas and co-founder of the band Charlie Limousine.

Winner of the 2021 President's Volunteer Service Award for "Dedicated Service to Children Around the World", KEPYR was founded by industry professionals in 2017 to raise awareness in the global children's media community about the current refugee child crisis, the worst since World War II, and to rally support for UNICEF's heroic work in serving displaced children everywhere.
