I played at Toon Cup: Super Tough Tournament on the Cartoon Network website, and it was a really hilarious experience! This game is an even more competitive version of the classic Toon Cup, and if you love cartoon football, this tournament is just right for you.
The first thing you do is create your dream team, choosing from the most beloved Cartoon Network characters. They're all there: Gumball, Finn and Jake, Raven of the Teen Titans Go! and many others. Each character has their own special abilities, so you can decide your strategy based on who you choose: there are those who are faster, those who are stronger in attack, and those who are great in defense. I put Gumball as a striker, because I wanted to see how funny he was at scoring goals!
The gameplay is very fast and action-packed: you control your characters with the directional buttons to move and with one button you can shoot, pass or tackle to steal the ball from your opponents. The thing that immediately captured me was the adrenaline of the matches: each match is a fight to score as many goals as possible, but you also have to pay attention to the defense, because the opponents are unforgiving!
One of the most fun parts is using “super moves”, which you can activate every now and then during the game. These moves can completely turn the situation around: for example, I once used Finn’s super speed to make a counterattack and score a decisive goal!
The tournament gets harder as you progress, with increasingly tougher teams to face, but that's what makes the game so exciting. Even if it seems easy at first, when you get to the final stages you really have to give it your all to win.
If you like arcade-style soccer games, with that touch of madness that only Cartoon Network characters can offer, Toon Cup: Super Tough Tournament is the perfect game. It's a mix of strategy, speed and lots of laughs, especially when the characters comment on their goals or defeats with typical jokes from their shows. You won't be able to stop playing until you take home the trophy!
