Trailer: CBS All Access goes wild with "Star Trek: Lower Decks" on August 6th

CBS All Access, ViacomCBS's digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service, has revealed the official trailer and main artwork for its new half-hour animated comedy Star Trek: Lower Decks. The series will premiere on Thursday August 6, with new episodes of the first season in 10 parts of the series which will arrive weekly on Thursday, exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers in the United States.

Developed by Emmy Award Winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty, Solar opposites), Star Trek: Lower Decks focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet's lesser ships, the United States Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi must keep up with their duties and social lives , often as the ship is rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

The Starfleet crew residing in the "lower decks" of the US Cerritos, includes Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome. Ensign Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid), Ensign Tendi (Noël Wells) and Ensign Rutherford (Eugene Cordero). Starfleet characters who make up the ship's deck crew include Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis), Commander Jack Ransom (Jerry O'Connell), Lieutenant Shaxs (Fred Tatasciore) and Doctor T'Ana (Gillian Vigman).

The series is produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, the new animation arm of CBS Television Studios; Secret hiding place; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin of Secret Hideout, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth of Roddenberry Entertainment and Katie Krentz (219 Productions) are executive producers alongside creator and showrunner Mike McMahan. Aaron Baiers (Secret Hideout), who brought McMahan to the project, is an executive co-producer. Titmouse (Big mouth), the Emmy Award-winning independent animation production company, serves as the animation studio for the series.

Star Trek: Lower Decks it will be broadcast exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States and is distributed worldwide by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.
