Trailer: The two-part VR tale of "Paper Birds" arrives on Oculus on July 8th

The star-studded VR animation, which has soared since its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last month Paper Birds Pt. 1 arrives on Thursday 8th July to allow a wider audience to enjoy Oculus Quest and Quest 2 exclusively.

Paper Birds Pt. 1 & 2 tells the story of Totò (voiced by Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates), a nearsighted child with an exceptional talent for music. With the guidance of his grandparents Robert (Edward Norton), a highly respected musician devoted above all to his music, and Elsa (Joss Stone), who has put aside her dreams of being an artist to take care of her family, Toto must find her way through the world of darkness to bring her sister back to life, carried away by mysterious shadows. He will use the depth of the music to open portals to the invisible world. And when he faces the shadows, they will reveal their deeper purpose.

The movies are the latest immersive virtual reality experience from the acclaimed and award-winning 3DAR animation company (Lil Dicky: Earth, dark eyes) and Baobab Studios (Baba Yaga, Crow: the legend). The half-hour experience is directed by German Heller and Federico Carlini, written by Heller and features drawings by Erica Villar.

Users who collect Part 1 will now have access to Part 2 when it launches. Buy paper birds in the Oculus.com store.
