A Rescate de Huevitos (Saving an egg), the latest version of the hit An Egg Movie by Mexico's Huevocartoon Producciones, pan-fried on the COVID cinema calendar and proved a hit as a special release targeting Spanish-speaking audiences. Released by Pantelion Films in the US, the CGI animated adventure is on track to gross $ 430K in its opening weekend.

The huevitos were distributed across 320 locations, earning a per-screen average of over $ 1.300, with Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Austin as its top performing markets.

Once again written, directed and produced by the founding brothers of Huevocartoon Gabriel and Rodolfo Alatriste, A Rescate de Huevitos is the fourth installment in the highest-grossing film series in Mexico, following the events of 2015 A Rooster with Muchos Huevos (A rooster with many eggs), also published in the United States by the Pantelion of Santa Monica.

The film follows our brave rooster, Toto (voiced by seven-time award winner Ariel Bruno Bichir) and his lovely hen wife, Di (actress / singer Maite Perroni) on a perilous mission to Congo to retrieve their egg offspring. stolen from the clutches of an evil Russian egg collector, and take them off the menu of a gourmet food event. The vocal cast also includes Carlos Espejel, Angélica Vale, Mayra Rojas, Miguel Rodarte, Mauricio Barrientos, Jesús Ochoa, Pepe Lavat, María Alicia Delgado and others.

The sequel is produced by Huevocartoon, Sky Mexico and Cinergistic Films. Videocine handled the release in Mexico, where the film has grossed 29,3 million pesos (~ $ 1,456M USD) since its August 12 release.

A fifth huevos adventure, A Frozen Rooster (A frozen rooster), is in development for release in 2022.
