WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?
In Cartoonia men and cartoons live together, among them Roger Rabbit, an actor from RK Maroon Studios, shoulder of Baby Herman (the newborn with a man's voice) who is unable to concentrate on his work, as he is tormented by jealousy towards the beautiful and disturbing wife Jessica. When dies Mr. Acme, the owner of Cartoonia, a man suspected of being Jessica's lover, Roger Rabbit is the first to be accused. To try to save himself from the death sentence, Roger turns to detective Eddie Valiant, a human who can't stand cartoons, but who nevertheless agrees to solve the case, also thanks to the convincing pleas of Jessica Rabbit. After a thousand vicissitudes that will lead the protagonists into the city of Cartoonia, into the world of cartoons, where everything is possible, detective Valiant unmasks the culprit: it is Judge Doom, a cartoon disguised as a man, who wants to destroy Cartoonia in order to build a highway.
Valiant also discovers that Doom is responsible for killing his brother many years ago, through the cartoons. This is at the root of why Valiant couldn't stand Roger Rabbit and all the cartoon characters. Doom is also aided by clumsy weasels, who bind Roger and his wife Jessica and threaten to dissolve them in brine, the terrible acid capable of erasing cartoons. Fortunately, things go differently, also thanks to the shrewdness of Valiant, who manages to save the two protagonists and defeat Judge Doom.
This film is one of the great blockbusters of the 80s and thanks to its technique, which saw cartoons and flesh-and-blood actors act together, it received 4 Academy Awards. Even if this technique is now superseded by the current sophisticated computer graphics productions, this film represents a milestone in animation cinema, as for the first time we find the Disney and Warner Brows cartoons within the same film, which will give viewers funny scenes and breathtaking action.
