Plot
Matul is-sajf in-nemel ħadmet ħafna, u ffranka l-provvisti għax-xitwa. Minflok iċ-ċicada l-ġurnata kollha ma għamlet xejn ħlief tkanta. Waslet ix-xitwa u n-nemel kellha x’tiekol, peress li kienet akkumulat ħafna ikel matul is-sajf. Iċ-ċikada bdiet tħoss id-dwejjaq tal-ġuħ, u għalhekk mar għand in-nemel jistaqsi jekk jistax jagħtiha x’jiekol. In-nemel staqsieha, “Ħdimt ħafna biex nakkumula dan kollu; minflok, x'għamilt matul is-sajf?" “Kanta,” wieġbet iċ-ċikala. In-nemel imbagħad exclaimed: "Mela issa żfin!"
