26-28 FEBRUARY 2010: THE FIFTH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMIC AND PLAY FESTIVAL!

Pure energy that explodes towards the sky and the Mantua Man who looks at us defiantly, while the stars and stripes of the American flag stand out in the background, almost as a sign of triumph.
The beautiful manifesto of Mantova Comics & Games 2010, created by the superstar Giuseppe "Cammo" Camuncoli, perfectly summarizes all the characteristics that have always distinguished the Mantuan festival and that this year will once again be the indelible trademark of the event.

The most "American" of Italian fairs: this has always been Mantova Comics & Games. A very rich festival where authors, international editors and personalities from culture and entertainment meet every year to meet readers, explain their profession to people or simply have a chat with friends, in a highly spectacular setting made up of cosplay parades and areas equipped to give vent to your irrepressible desire to play.
After hosting personalities of the caliber of Sergio Bonelli, Milo Manara, Valentino Rossi, Luciano Ligabue, Jim Lee, Brian M. Bendis, Lee Bermejo, Simone Bianchi, Gabriele dell'Otto, Angelo Stano, Nicola Mari, Roberto Recchioni, Licia Troisi, Melissa P., Paolo Barbieri, Mantova Comics & Games returns to be talked about for another special guest: it is JG Jones, designer of great talent and visionary and co-creator, together with the writer Mark Millar, of the masterpiece Wanted published in Italy by Panini and from which the homonymous film starring Agelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman was based.
Alongside Jones there will be the star Giuseppe Camuncoli, to well represent the many Italian authors who have made it into the US market in the pay of the most important publishing houses such as Marvel and DC: Riccardo Burchielli (DMZ, Garrett), Stefano Caselli will also be present with him. (Civil War: Young Avergers / Runaways, Avengers: The Initiative, Secret Warriors), Alessandro Vitti (Brendon, Secret Warriors), Marco Checchetto (Amazing Spider-Man), Paolo Barbieri (Cronache del Mondo Emerso), Davide Gianfelice (Northlanders, Greek Street), Mario Alberti (Amazing Spider-Man), Sara Pichelli (X-Men, Eternals).

AMERICAN DREAM
Mantova Comics & Games was a crossroads of established talents and budding talents, a meeting place for fans, authors and publishers. In many cases, the Mantua fair has allowed the dream of those who want to enter the world of comics to come true. In this 5th Edition it was decided to focus precisely on this common dream, a real American Dream, or that desire to break through the Atlantic that some pioneers have managed to achieve and that many others yearn for and perhaps will achieve. Because the world of comics is the white space in which fantasies are made, but at the same time it can be the means by which to realize the projects and concrete ambitions of “made in Italy” talents. This is why so many authors have been called who "made it", or those who today - in the States - are part of the new Italian Wave. And they will tell the audience how they started and how they succeeded in their intent.

MEETINGS WITH EDITORS
The meetings between the aspiring authors and the professionals of the main publishing houses have always been one of the strong points of the event. Also this year there will be, for the entire duration of the convention, a series of still top secret surprises, aimed at evaluating the works of Italian talents by the most important national and international editors.
The red thread that acts as a link between the various editions of Mantova Comics & Games is undoubtedly the Marvel editor CB Cebulsky, the one who brought dozens of Italian authors to the House of Ideas and who this year renews his traditional appointment with the Chesterquest, a real talent hunt!

WHAT'S NEXT? THE NEW SCENARIOS OF THE ITALIAN COMIC
That is a round table in which publishers, distributors and authors will tell (or try to interpret) the future of the Italian comics market after the acquisition of Marvel by Disney, the creation of DC Entertainment, the birth of Aurea, the changes in the market of comics and various bookstores.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PUBLISHING HOUSES
Mantova Comics & Games rhymes with “entertainment”: crossing the doors of the Palabam means entering the world of comics from the main door.
Panini Comics, Planeta DeAgostini, GP Publishing, Star Comics, Bonelli, Edizioni BD / J-Pop, and a myriad of other great interpreters of Italian comics will also be present this year at the event with exclusive previews, conferences and meetings with the public.
If, on the other hand, your priority is to fill the fateful holes in the collection, you will have the opportunity to contact the most important comic shops in Italy.

VIDEOGAMES PARTY
The Videogames Party traveling tour, which has always been the convention's trademark, will also be one of the strengths of Mantova Comics & Games this year: official tournaments with rich prizes to be won and demonstrations of the most important videogame news, in a colorful and funny.
And for the detractors of technology there will be non-stop demonstrations of the most famous role-playing and board games!

COSPLAY EVOLUTION
What would a comics convention be without cosplayers?
By popular demand, the explosive Cosplay Evolution returns again this year, a real "event within an event": the imposing stage of the event will allow you to interpret your favorite characters, both individually and in groups, with the maximum of visibility.
