Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - part 1

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter series, is a two-episode film. Part 1 begins with Harry, Ron and Hermione engaged in the terrifying and dangerous mission of tracking down and destroying the Horcruxes - key to Voldemort's immortality. The three friends, now deprived of the protection and guidance of their professors, must rely on one another more than ever, but there are the Dark Forces who threaten to separate them forever.
Meanwhile the wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The war everyone feared has begun and Voldemort's Death Eaters have taken control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who dares to object. But the prey they still pursue is the most important one for Voldemort: Harry Potter. The Chosen One must be delivered to the Dark Lord ... alive.
Harry's only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But in the course of his research, he discovers an ancient and now almost forgotten fairy tale - the legend of the Deathly Hallows. And if the legend turns out to be true, it could hand over to Voldemort the absolute power he wants to seize. Harry doesn't know that his future has already been decided by his past, that fateful day he became 'the surviving child'. Harry Potter is no longer a child now and must be confronted with the task for which he has been prepared for since the first day he set foot at Hogwarts: the final battle with Voldemort.

Harry Potter - David HeymanFrom the moment he first appeared, many people around the world have begun to fall in love with the adventures of Harry Potter, the child wizard who changed both the history of literature and that of cinema. For over a decade David Heyman has been immersed in this magical world, as the producer of all the films based on the books of JK Rowling, who was also the producer of the film adaptation of the seventh and final episode, `` Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ''. . But when Heyman faced the latest installment of this series that broke all box office records, he realized that there were considerable challenges, not least that of enclosing in a single story all the subplots of the series that was nearing its conclusion. Thus breaking the tradition, it was decided to divide `` Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows '' into two parts. In his third Harry Potter film as a director, David Yates says that Part 1 of `` Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows '' breaks tradition also because it takes the 4 protagonists away from the familiar confines of Hogwarts. In fact it is the first film in which the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry never appears.

Suddenly Harry, Ron and Hermione find themselves having to survive in the world, a big and bad, but above all dangerous place. They feel isolated and alone and very vulnerable. In fact, the stakes have never been higher, as the fate of the wizarding and Muggle worlds is in their young hands. Knowing the secret of Voldemort's power and immortality, Harry is tasked with tracking down the Horcruxes: objects in which the Dark Lord has hidden the fragments of his soul. If even one is left intact, Voldemort can never be defeated. Two Horcruxes have already been destroyed - Tom Riddle's diary and the ring that belonged to Marvolo Gaunt, Riddle's maternal grandfather. Harry and Dumbledore believed they had identified the third Horcrux, Salazar Slytherin's medallion, which turns out to be a fake, while the real one was stolen by someone whose initials are RAB The problem is that the Horcrux can be anywhere or in every thing. Harry Potter only knows that he has a task to perform and that Ron and Hermione will never abandon him. A strenuous journey begins for the three boys, physically and emotionally.

The search for the Horcruxes has unexpected consequences for Harry, who uncovers some painful truths about Dumbledore's past. The revelation that his beloved teacher and mentor once had more in common with Voldemort than Harry had ever imagined raises a series of doubts in the young wizard about the man he respected and loved so much. What multiplies Harry Potter's difficulties is that Dumbledore has entrusted him with a mission without a clear plan of how to carry it out and this puts his friends in danger. It is a real test of their relationship, a further element of interest in the story.

Voldemort - Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsVoldemort is at the height of absolute power, after hiding in darkness, waiting for the right moment to return and impose his will on the whole world. His plan is working, he just needs to add this little detail. Voldemort doesn't understand how Harry Potter became his strongest opponent, but he knows he must be the one to kill him. First of all it is his destiny, then there is the pure and simple satisfaction, after the many failures. The Death Eaters turn to the Dark Lord with a mixture of respect and fear, they know that it takes very little to attack even his most faithful followers. And to remind him of this is the companion who is always at his side - the only living creature that Voldemort treats with true tenderness - the great snake named Nagini. Voldemort has gathered his best Death Eaters at Malfoy Manor to plan when, where and how to ambush Harry Potter. Snape reveals when Harry will leave the house on Privet Drive, and that he will be protected in every way by the Order of the Phoenix.

Voldemort is sure he can defeat Harry Potter. He loves to dominate, like an emperor, but he found he couldn't kill Harry Potter with his wand, in fact he got to know from the wandmaker Ollivander (John Hurt) that his and Harry's are `` twins '', they have the same core and cancel each other out. With a voice veiled with malice, he suggests that it is Lucius Malfoy who has the `` honor '' of handing him his wand.

When we first meet Lucius Malfoy in `` Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets '' he was a full-fledged wizard who didn't bother to hide his contempt for everyone he considered inferior and who raised his son, Draco, in his own image. But now he has returned from a brief captivity in Azkaban and is the shadow of the man he was. He must bear in silence the fact that Voldemort takes his place at the table and that his residence has become the headquarters of the Dark Lord. Sitting next to his father, Draco Malfoy is consumed with doubt. He was once the arrogant young brawler of the Slytherins, now he must face the chilling reality of being a Death Eater.

Draco's aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange, has no such remorse. Helena Bonham Carter, who plays her, declares that Bellatrix considers it an honor to be Voldemort's most obsequious and bloodthirsty follower.

Hermione - Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsWith Voldemort taking control of the situation, all people connected to Harry Potter are also threatened. Being wizards, the Weasleys are able to fight on equal terms, but Harry and Hermione's Muggle families are very vulnerable. To protect her parents, Hermione makes a painful choice. In a scene that is barely mentioned in the book, she leaves home taking with her all the memories they had of her, their only daughter.

On the other hand, it is not a sacrifice for Harry to say goodbye to his Muggle family: insufferable Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley. When the Dursleys leave the now empty Privet Drive house, Harry doesn't really regret his childhood in the closet under the stairs. A noise at the door warns him of the arrival of his escort: Ron and Hermione; Arthur Weasley; Evil Eye Moody; Tonks and Lupine; the twins Fred and George Weasley; their older brother, Bill, and his fiancée, Fleur Delacour; Mundungus Fletcher; Kingsley Shacklebolt; and especially Rubeus Hagrid. All of them are tasked with transporting Harry to a safe home. But that's not the number that can guarantee safety with Death Eaters, so Mad-Eye devised a plan. Six of the group drink a Polyjuice potion, thus taking on Harry's likeness and heading in seven different directions.

From a technical point of view, Yates, visual effects supervisor Tim Burke, and cinematographer Eduardo Serra used Motion Control equipment when Radcliffe played his 'counter figures'. Then the shots were combined together to complete the illusion that there were seven Harry Potter in the room at the same time. Each Harry, dressed alike and equipped with glasses, was accompanied by an adult member of the group protecting him and the real Harry was accompanied by Hagrid, who had taken him to number 4 of Privet Drive when he was still a child. Once again it is Robbie Coltrane who plays the giant guardian.

Some couples start off using broom handles, others riding Thestrals, the winged horses, while Harry is aboard the sidecar of the same bike with which Hagrid had taken him to Privet Drive years ago. But the Death Eaters were waiting for them and a breathtaking chase in the sky and along the roads begins, skidding among the cars. Muggle drivers are unaware of their presence, otherwise they would be stunned to see the bike defy the laws of gravity and slip into busy tunnels.
