Parva and the prince of Shiva

This animated film was based on a story by the great comic artist Milo Manara and written by the equally well-known Vincenzo Cerami (see Benigni's Pinocchio), but the production is entirely French and is directed by Jean Cubaud. The story tells of seventeen-year-old Parva, a beautiful and sweet French student, who, being an orphan, lives with her great friend Lula. Since its birth, Parva has been radiated with a supernatural power, in fact at the same moment it was born, a sapphire meteorite collided with the earth, giving it ultra-sensory powers that bind it to the Indian prince Shiva. Parva is passionate about oriental art history and one day, while she was doing some research on the internet, Prince Shiva appeared on her computer monitor, locked in a cage, begging her to free him from the evil tyrant Malaw. The following day still incredulous for that extraordinary apparition, Parva meets a lost dog, which she adopts calling him Indra. But the dog is kidnapped by some shady characters and Parva in the company of Lula, sets out on his trail, arriving at none other than the mysterious island of Kiam, in the Bay of Bengal, right in the place where Prince Shiva is a prisoner. Parva discovers that a wise and good marajah once reigned on that island, to be succeeded by the beautiful prince Shiva. Parva and LulaBut the evil Malaw usurped the throne at the Marajah and locked Prince Shiva in prisons, exploiting its inhabitants to massacred works in order to extract the sapphires from the mines. Parva and Lula are helped by an old Indian monk, endowed with extraordinary powers and by Agni, a boy expert in computer technology and mobile phones. After several exciting adventures, Parva manages to find her little dog Indra who hugging him turns into the beautiful Indian prince Shiva who had asked her for help. What was written in an ancient prophecy then came true and Parva lived happily ever after together with his beloved prince. The stroke of the drawings and the quality of the illustrations are clearly inspired by the drawings of Milo Manara, which deserve to be seen for the sensuality that she manages to give to her female characters.
