The animated film IqBal - Children without fear, by Michel Fuzellier and Babak Payami, will be released in theaters on November 19, 2015 on the occasion of the International Day for the rights of children and adolescents.

Iqbal: Children Without Fear is an animated feature film freely inspired by the novel by Francesco D'Adamo "Iqbal's Story". Through the tones of comedy and adventure, the universal story of a fearless child and his companions harassed by the corrupt system of adults is told. With great willpower and a profound sense of justice, the little friends take back their childhood. Play, friendship and fantasy in this dramatic story reveal the beauty and strength of the word freedom.

Iqbal is alert, generous and with an innate sense of justice. His brother is ill and he decides to run away in search of money to treat him. Outraged, he ends up in the hands of a slaver who forces him to work in his carpet factory with other children. Iqbal soon realizes that that debt will never be repaid! But together we can! You can escape. So with courage and resourcefulness Iqbal plans his escape and, together with his friends, regain his childhood and freedom!

The narrative flow from the story is interrupted in some points by the insertion of moments in which Iqbal escapes from reality to find himself in a world of dreams and imaginary visions thanks to which he recharges his vital energy and finds the strength to fight. Reworked starting from the original drawings by Valeria Petrone, these excursus. narratives were made in 2d with a graphic style different from the rest of the feature film.

The feature film Iqbal: Children Without Fear. It was made with a mixed technique of 3D animation on designed sets. The 3D animation gives the possibility to delicately move the characters making them act in a natural way. The choice of using designed scenographies allows a great freedom in the perspectives, in the frames, in the cuts of light and in the colors and makes the settings very suggestive.

The film is loosely based on the bestseller Iqbal's Story. by Francesco D Adamo, who in turn romances the life of Iqbal Masih, a child who became a symbol of the fight against child labor. The feature film directed by Fuzellier and Payami does not intend to be either a simple film adaptation of the book of Adam, or a biographical documentary on Ibqal, but rather a fiction film, which touches on universal themes through the adventure of a brave and intelligent child who, together with his group of friends, manages to defeat the immorality of adults. The choice to set the story in an invented metropolis, without national characterizations, confirms the intention of the authors to represent a universal story in which anyone, regardless of cultural diversity, can feel involved. The reference universe, the world represented in the film is in fact the childish one: play, friendship and the desire for freedom are traits common to children all over the world, what changes are the possibilities and methods. with which they are lived.
