The Green Hornet

the green HornetBorn in America in 1930 as a radio series by George W. Trendle and broadcast by Detroit's WXYZ station, The Green Hornet has gathered fans from all over, not only on the radio, but also in the world of comics in 1940 and on TV. thanks to a television season that in 1960 brought Bruce Lee to success in the United States. With this new film, The Green Hornet comes to the cinema the January 28 2011 to win over a new generation of fans. The Green Hornet is an action-packed 3D comedy and tells the story of Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), the son of Los Angeles' most prominent and respected media mogul, committed to a purposeless existence, all He teaches fun, until his father (Tom Wilkinson) dies mysteriously, leaving him his entire economic empire. By forming an unlikely friendship with one of their father's most hardworking and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), together they see the opportunity to do, for the first time in their life, something truly important: fight crime. But in order to do this, they both decide to become criminals and to protect the law they break it.Britt becomes The Green Hornet and together with Kato fights crime on the streets. Using his ingenuity and skills, Kato builds a retro-styled but technologically very advanced weapon, The Black Beauty, a powerful indestructible machine. But Chudnofsky has some very specific plans: to crush The Green Hornet once and for all.

the green HornetBritt Reid is a young man famous for being the son of a father who has created something great, but he is just a little boy having fun. He never took anything seriously. But when his father dies, he sees in this the opportunity to be able to give meaning and purpose to his life, thus deciding to use his inheritance to do good. The Green Hornet will be released in 3D, a decision that fits perfectly with the story Gondry tells, as well as the way he decided to shoot it. The director used everything from make-up to computer graphics to make the story look its best. 3D is an innovative tool that has allowed Gondry to tell the story in a different way, as he has had the opportunity to use depth of field in a whole new world. With Moritz's experience in action films, with Gondry's unique visual style and Rogen and Goldberg's comedy, the film has a triad of elements from three completely different worlds.
Kato's character was born as a right hand man and like many characters like him he was just a wingman. Later, however, the TV series was produced with Bruce Lee in the role of Kato, thus becoming an icon and it is for this reason that there is great affection for this character as much as for The Green Hornet. The audience that goes to the cinema to see the film wants to see what happens to Kato, not just what concerns the main hero.
Lenore Case - Britt Reid's secretary played by Cameron Diaz is another character from the story who appears in the film, but in a slightly different guise.
In the role of Green Hornet's enemy Chudnofsky, the filmmakers decided to cast Christoph Waltz known to the general public for the character of Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds, for which he won the Academy Award. The film was released in theaters the same day the production of The Green Hornet began and the idea of calling Waltz was well received by the whole set.
To build a machine like the Chysler Imperial, which was produced in 64, 65 and 66, coordinator Dennis McCarthy made multiple models of the Black Beauty, specially built for the various parts of the film. Some models were used for the action scenes and safety equipment and special seats were installed on them. One model had guns inserted on the front side lights, able to position themselves mechanically, but which did not allow the presence of the engine.
