X-MEN 3: FINAL CONFLICT

On May 26, the third and final film in the saga was released X-men, the superheroes of the Marvel comics, created by Stan Lee. After X-men e X-men 2 directed by director Bryan Singer (now busy with the new Superman film), the third film was entrusted to the direction of Brett Ratner (Red Dragon), who certainly did not disappoint expectations. Despite the complexity of the plot and the richness of the characters, the film is well orchestrated both from the point of view of the logic of events, both in the spectacular action scenes and because each superhero is well characterized in its peculiarities. X-men 3 final conflict while not respecting the comic series to the letter, takes up one of the most important parts of the history of the mutants, namely the one relating to the Black Phoenix, written by Cris Claremont and drawn by John Byrne in 1979.

X-men 3 begins with a short flash-back, related to the previous films, in order to resume the logical thread of events and focuses on the past of Jean Gray (Famke Janssen), the Marvel Girl with telekinetic powers, able to move objects with the power of thought, which however in the previous film is dead and lies on the bottom of a lake. The dominant theme (as well as the previous ones) is the integration of mutants with the rest of humanity, which looks at them with fear and suspicion, to the point that a pharmaceutical company has invented an antidote, capable of canceling the mutant gene, which if injected, it will make those who undergo the treatment lose their powers. Men call it the cure and the source comes from a mutant boy, who has the power to erase the mutant gene of his fellow man. The mutants are well represented politically by Hank McCoy (Kelsey Grammer), better known as the Beast, one of the first X-men of the starting lineup, who defends the rights of his people, but who can do nothing to dissuade the rulers. from giving up the care. To aggravate the position of the mutants we think Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his allies, who rebel and declare war on men, who they call in a derogatory way "Homo Sapiens". Among the superheroes of Magneto in addition to Pyro (Aaron Stanford) and Mystica (Rebecca Romijn) will be added the new entries Callisto (Dania Ramirez) with supersonic speed, Fenomeno (Vinnie Jones) with prodigious strength and the multiple man ( Eric Dane) able to multiply his person. Among the X-men in addition to the aforementioned Hank MacCoy, Warren Worthington, better known as the Angel (Ben Foster) and Kitty Pride Shadowcat (Ellen Page) able to pass through walls, will make their entry. The three will join the group of Prof. Xavier (Patrick Stewart) consisting of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Tempesta (Halle Berry), Rogue (Anna Paquin), the Ice Man (Shawn Ashmore), Cyclope (James Mardsen), Colossus (Daniel Cudmore) and all the pupils of the mutant school. The group will have to face the Brotherhood of Magneto to which a new and dangerous threat has been added: the dark side of the revived Jean Gray who is now called the Phoenix, and is endowed with a frightening power. The X-men follow the philosophy of Prof. Xavier, that is to integrate among human beings and exploit their powers for the good of the world, in order to convince them to a peaceful coexistence, but the treatment system throws them into confusion too. : which side to be on? The film has a dynamic and engaging script, which never has moments of dullness as the action scenes highlight the superpowers of all the protagonists, respecting the typical emphasis of the comic. At the end of the intense and exciting film, one has the feeling that this is not the last and conclusive of the saga, as after the end credits, there are scenes that suggest another sequel.
