La tenth edition of Naples COMICON - International Comic Show, dedicated to MAGENTA and its main variation, the RED, will take place, as usual, in the splendid setting of the sixteenth-century Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples, for the first time in 4 days, from 24 to 27 April 2008.

Also this year, the Salone will be organized on the two floors of the Castle: in the space of ambulacra on the first floor with the Market Area, the Auditorium, the Video Rooms, the Meeting Room, the PRO Area and much more; and in the space of High prisonon the second floor, entirely dedicated to the main exhibitions of the Salone and which will be open until the closing of the Salone until 30 May.

Napoli COMICON, in fact, has been part of the official programming of the Castel Sant Elmo/ Polo Museale of Naples and was born with the patronage of the Campania Region, the Province and the Municipality of Naples and is promoted by the Special Superintendence for the Neapolitan Museum Complex.

Great expectation for the Guests, the exhibition exhibitions and the many Events branded 2008. After 2007 dedicated to Cyan, in the chromatic path of the 4 basic colors of typographic printing, 2008 will be centered on the emotional and symbolic shades of Magenta, and therefore of its main reading, Red.

Lorenzo Mattotti, one of the world's leading cartoonists and illustrators, has
created, as you can see from the website, the official image of the Neapolitan Salone,
repeating the work done for 2007 by Enki Bilal for the Cyan.

Also for this edition the program, divided into Exhibitions, Meetings, Projections
and Autographs, it will be very rich. How broad and consolidated the presence of Authors will be
e National and international operators, increasingly rich and qualified for years, e
more and more distinctive character of the Naples Show.

Among the many Exhibitions present at the Salone, we anticipate a few:
the first anthological dedicated to the great and late Attilio Micheluzzi;
the monographic with over one hundred originals by the French erotic author George Pichard;
the tribute to Lorenzo Mattotti and his innovative graphic novel "Fuochi".

Among the many Italian and international guests of the 2008 edition, they confirmed
their presence, in addition to Lorenzo Mattotti:
from France Georges Wolinski, a very famous Tunisian author;
from the United States Terry Moore, author of "Strangers in Paradise" and the young author
specializing in superheroes John Cassaday.

In relation to the solid network of collaborations with many international events,
then, Naples COMICON hosts a different festival every year, among the largest in the sector:
after the Barcelona Motor Show hosted in 2007, this year it's up to the important
German Comic Salon in Erlangen.

We then underline the growing importance of the PRO Area, reserved for operators
and professionals, national and international, now in its sixth year.
Proposed in 2003 by Napoli COMICON, the PRO Area was an authentic innovation
in the national comics scene. This year it will be presented in a version
even more equipped and comfortable, equipped with wi-fi connection, numerous workstations
PC and the classic free bar.

Another innovation of the 2008 edition is the presence, inside the Salone, of one
review entirely dedicated to Animation Cinema, CartooNA, which will present in
the large and usual section dedicated to Animation is more organic and visible.

COMICON is not just Comics, Visual Arts, Cinema and Animation. But also Music,
of great quality. Since 2006, the Phonotheque of via Morghen has been experimenting with
good feedback from the spectators of the Festival, a series of DJ sets that will
take place during the opening hours of the show. In 2008, to celebrate ten years of
COMICON. Fonoteca presents the third edition of Co'MicON, real
minifestival with lots of live music, performances, presentations by artists and DJ sets.
As soon as the doors of COMICON close, those of Co'MicON, in the United States, open
spaces of the ambulatories of Castel Sant'Elmo, until late at night!

The Napoli COMICON billboard is also enriched with the inevitable Comicon
Cosplay Challenge, the Future Future exhibition that interprets new trends
of the world of Italian comics and presents the best that is stirred on the scene
national, the IMAGO Competition involving schools, the many events of COMIC (ON) OFF
which will take place outside the walls of the Castle and which will animate centers
cultural, institutions and bodies of the regional territory, as well as meeting and local points
of the Neapolitan territory. Do not forget the prestigious Attilio Micheluzzi Awards-
COMICON for works published during the year 2007.

All this and much more at Napoli COMICON 2008, in the name of power
metaphorical of RED!

Here are the main events "outside" the Castle
