FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

Full Metal Alchemist is the story of the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, sons of a great alchemist in the army who went on a long journey. The boys, also passionate about alchemy, live with their mother Trisha Elric in the village of Resembool, very similar to those of the twentieth century. Over the years Trisha becomes seriously ill and dies, also due to the pain caused by the absence of her husband Hohemheim. In desperation, they will use all their knowledge of alchemy to succeed in the forbidden enterprise of resurrecting their mother. Drew a huge alchemical circle on the floor and place your hands on it, they will begin the ritual which unfortunately will have tragic implications as, using the dangerous technique of the Principle of Equivalent Exchange, Alphonse will lose his body, while Edward will be torn off a leg. and an arm. Thanks to his skill, Edward will be able to save Alphonse's soul by imprisoning it inside a gigantic armor, while he will make use of artificial limbs called automail, which will be built by Winry Rockbell, their childhood friend expert in mechanics who he lives with his grandmother Pinako, from whom he learned all the secrets of this technique. Now alone and with the weight of their handicapp, the two brothers leave their village to face a long journey in search of the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary stone whose power over the control of matter, could restore Alphonse's body and Edward's limbs. , as it avoids the "principle of equivalent exchange".

However, this precious stone is also coveted by various armies and by the Homunculus, beings born following a failed alchemical transformation, each of which represents one of the seven deadly sins: lust, envy, pride, sloth, anger, greed and greed. A few years later they are in the city of Reole where they meet Rose, a young girl who introduces them to Don Cornello, a priest of the god Leto adored by the people, as he is able to perform extraordinary miracles such as raising the dead.

Don Cornello has promised Rose to resurrect her boyfriend, who died in an accident, so the girl becomes his faithful assistant. Don Cornello hosts Alphonse and Edward who are able to understand the secret of the priest, in fact, in addition to being a good alchemist, he is in possession of the philosopher's stone set on the ring, which gives him enormous power. Don Cornello realizes that he has been exposed and sends a hitman to kill Alphonse, who shoots him in the head.

However, he continues to walk as his soul is a prisoner of an empty armor, made only of metal. The two boys manage to stop Don Cornello's client, but Rose witnesses the scene and runs away terrified by her priest. He transforms the palace into a sea of ​​sand that blocks Alphonse's armor. Edward then finds himself alone to face the powerful opponent who throws a monstrous chimera at him. Edward thanks to his alchemical knowledge, even without the possibility of drawing circles on the floor due to the sand, manages to materialize a spear with which he defeats the chimera. Don Cornello then transforms his parrot into another chimera, which breaks Edward's spear and grabs him by the left leg, which reveals its metallic nature by breaking the claws of the same monster. Edwar manages to definitively defeat even the first chimera, after which he reveals to Don Cornello and Rose that he is a Full Metal Alchemist, the alchemist of metal, able to carry out transmutations without drawing alchemical circles.
