Teacher's Pet cartoons, after being broadcast on Disney Channel in April 2006, are now airing on Rai Due from Monday to Friday at 7,00 within the Random broadcast. The series produced by Walt Disney is divided into 47 episodes lasting 15 minutes each and is aimed at an audience of elementary school children as the recurring theme is that of school.
The protagonists of Teacher's Pet are the dog Spot and the child Leonard Helpermann. Spot is an extraordinary dog, as in addition to being able to speak, he has a real vocation for teaching. Spot is so keen to go to school that he disguises himself as a pupil and becomes the top of the class, and later a teacher dog. Teacher's PetSpot will teach Leonard, listless and unmotivated, the values of friendship, loyalty and passion for studying. Complicating matters is the fact that Leonard is also his teacher's son; Mrs Mary Luo Heplermann and finding her own dog that excels at school as a classmate is quite frustrating for Leonard. Leonard is a scout and loves to play football. He is also in love with his neighbor Leslie Dunkling, but he can't say more than just "hello" to her. For Leonard, life is a constant challenge to himself, but thanks to Spot and his friends he will be able to overcome a thousand difficulties.
Other characters appearing in the cartoon include Jolly, a romantic cat who loves the smell of tuna and fears the outside world, loves soap and is meticulous in his personal hygiene. Teacher's PetPretty Boy is a canary bully with a vocation for command and the Napoleonic complex. His arrogance is matched only by his fear of soap. Pretty Boy is certainly very obnoxious, but when he sings he has a beautiful canary voice. Ian Wazselewski is a bit of a weird guy, but he's also the smartest guy in school, he has the distinction of having a chronic cough. Leslie Dunkling is Leonard's neighbor who is not suspicious of the boy's implementation against him, in return
loves his dog Spot. Ms. Helperman is the teacher everyone wants. Always assigns well-tended and meticulous tasks as with the authors of ancient Greece. She's the kind of teacher and very caring mom, which bothers Leonard a lot.
The drawings of the Teacher's Pet cartoon are very stylized and refer to the first American cartoons of the 20s, this contributes to the immediacy of the message that transpires from these little stories, sometimes paradoxical: going to school can be a fun adventure.
