RANK

The chameleon Rango in the middle of the desertThe animated film Rango, directed by Gore Verbinski, director of Pirates of the Caribbean, will be released in cinemas from Friday 11 March. As a trademark we find the heroic and adventurous style, seasoned with hilarious scenes interpreted by Johnny Deep and transformed into 3d thanks to the "emotion capture" technique, which allows you to capture every minimum expression and gesture. The protagonist is a strange chameleon, who grew up inside an aquarium, where his only interlocutors are a fake palm, a dead insect and the remains of a doll. In order to fight boredom, he got used to reciting long monologues with himself, bringing to light his innate talent as an actor, but also fueling deep identity crises. During a trip along the Texas desert, which separates the United States from Mexico, due to an unexpected event he is thrown out of the car and suddenly catapulted into the middle of an arid and hostile nature. In order to escape the claws of a predatory hawk, he takes refuge in the desolate city of Dust. Here in a roccambolesque way, he manages to eliminate the hawk that ends up overwhelmed by the water tank and thus is welcomed by the population, for having been freed from a terrible danger. In the city we find a large sample of anthropomorphic animals such as mice, moles, iguanas and other typical inhabitants of the deserts. Rango rides along with the typical characters of the old westThe city of Dust faithfully follows that of the old west and when the chameleon enters the saloon, he is immediately surrounded by the classic ugly thugs who study his every move. The chameleon does not let himself be intimidated and, giving rise to all his talent as an actor, he plays the part of the terrible gunslinger Rango. Despite his frail (not to say thin) physique, Rango is credible and all the inhabitants trust in him to be freed by the bullies on duty, so much so as to elect him sheriff. Rango will face a thousand adventures and situations typical of the films of John Ford and Sergio Leone, managing to get by not without difficulty, also thanks to the help of the female lizard Borlotta and the mayor turtle. Among the various characters we find the young mouse Priscilla, the Mexican owls, the wise armadillo Carcass and the ruthless snake Jake Sonagli, the number one enemy of Rango. A funny and well scripted film, which amazes for the graphic quality of the reconstruction of the environments, animals and animations.
