The Nardi toy soldiers, whatever model they are if compared to other realistic toy soldiers models, cannot fully convince and this for a series of shortcomings.
The anatomical proportions are not too convincing: this is because sometimes the heads of the soldiers turn out to be too large compared to the rest of the body and vice versa, or the arms themselves, which are sometimes very large and sometimes too thin.
The grip of the weapons does not convince equally: this in fact is approximate, and it seems that the soldier is so strong that he can easily hold the rifle, which in reality is not so light. The weapons of the soldiers then do not seem to be very defined: these were in fact made with a too thin shape, as if the soldier held a wooden stick in his hand instead of rifles.
If you examine the uniform instead, this turns out to be the only part made well: the details, although very few, are not lacking and this helps the soldiers to recover a score that unfortunately, seeing this set of flaws is quite low.
The defects are certainly not lacking even in the realization of the knights: these, although made in a slightly better way than the soldiers of the army, with more detailed armor than the uniforms, seem to be really not big, and the armor seems to be too much narrow for the knights, who appear slender with a spear or a sword in hand.
It should also be noted that the Nardi toy soldiers are aimed exclusively at an audience of children and not at collectors, therefore also the anatomical proportions, weapons and postures of the toy soldiers are made to have a greater identification with children. The large head compared to the body and the thin arms, reminiscent of those of the same children, who play at war and this can be interpreted as the key to the great success that the Nardi soldiers had at the turn of the 60s and '70.
In any case, the best-made Nardi toy soldiers are cowboys: these are made of hard dough, a particular material that gives the models greater resistance to shocks and use, is well defined and with a lively color, and above all with a more serious and focused facial expression.
The cowboys are also equipped with all the accessories: in addition to the hat, which can be of different colors, the cowboys wear a shirt well represented by the model, complete with a collar and pocket, handkerchief on the neck, jeans, belt with gun on the side, boots with spurs in the back and holding the legendary lasso to capture cattle, an object made almost identical to the real object and which is very resistant, well detailed and with an apt coloring. Note a sort of exclusive created by Nardi, that is the possibility of disassembling the various toy soldiers that can be divided into legs, torso and head. Indian toy soldiers even have hair that can be separated from the head, as well as soldiers' hats.
