On November 8, Ben Gadbois, president and general manager of the Canadian toy and media company Spin Master, revealed the Spin Master's third quarter financial statement via a financial conference call. Among the various ongoing projects the company is planning to relaunch the franchise Bakugan
within the next two years.
Ben Gadbois says "We are also working on numerous and exciting TV shows in our entertainment group for 2018 and 2019, including Bakugan, and collaborating intensely with our partners for the line of toys that relate to this animated TV series.Spin Master did not provide any other information on the projects of the other brands during the conference call.
Spin Master announced in 2015 that it was planning a relaunch of Bakugan. The company shared conceptual art at the time.
The entire Bakugan franchise is based on the combination of metal cards and magnetic toys from Spin Master and Sega Toys that automatically transform into animated figures during gameplay. The franchise was a bestseller in North America, and in 2009 it won the annual award as "Toy of the year"at the Toy Fair.
The American Cartoon Network has started airing the first animated series of Bakugan Battle Brawlers in February 2008. It was followed by three television series sequels: Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia
, Bakugan Gundalian Invaders e Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge
- the latest of which premiered in Canada and the United States in 2011. BakuTech! Bakugan Gachi , a series of spinoff adaptations of the SHINGO manga comic, presented in Japan in 2013.
