Dear animal friends (Japanese original title: Anime Yasei no Sakebi) known in the United States under the title: Call of the wild is a Japanese animated TV series (anime) produced in 1982 by TV Tokyo and Wako Productions. The series consists of 26 episodes lasting 24 minutes and is based on Jack London's tales of the forest. Each episode features a wild animal in danger. In Italy the series aired on Rai Due on 1 June 1986 and the famous song by Bruno Lauzi, La Tartaruga, was used as the theme song.
