Cinderella is a popular fairy tale. Probably originating from China or, according to others [1] [2] [3], from ancient Egypt, it has been narrated in hundreds of versions throughout most of the world, and is part of the cultural heritage of many peoples. In the West, the best known versions are those by Giambattista Basile (The Cinderella Cat), by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm; among the modern standard versions we must probably also indicate the one narrated in Walt Disney's 1950 animated film of the same name.
Cinderella plot:
"Cinderella" is the story of a beautiful young woman, orphan of both parents. His mother had died first, his father remarried a woman who was himself a widow and two daughters, and then he too died. After her father's death, the girl was enslaved by her father's wife and his daughters. They hate her to the point of calling her only by the nickname "Cinderella" (from the ashes the girl gets dirty with cleaning the fireplace and from the pots she uses to cook food for her stepsisters and stepmother). The life of the young Cinderella changes when news reaches the whole city that a ball organized by the king will be held at the court, during which the prince could choose his betrothed.
