Crunchyroll reveals the winners of the 2024 Anime Awards in Tokyo

Crunchyroll®, the home of anime from around the world, revealed the winners of the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards during a live ceremony featuring global celebrities and thrilling musical performances, all to honor the creators, musicians and performers fueling the global love for anime. The 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards took place live in Tokyo, Japan, and was live streamed worldwide, hosted by the voice actress Sally amaki and the well-known presenter Jon Kabira.

The winners for each category were revealed by a variety of global hosts and celebrities, representing passionate anime fans from across the entertainment world, including the three-time GRAMMY winner Megan thee stallion, the Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA, the award-winning actress Imam Vellani (MS. MARVEL and THE MARVELS), the Oscar-winning couple Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), director Joaquim Dos Santos (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse), the sports superstar DeMarcus Lawrence (Dallas Cowboys, NFL) and wrestling legend Mercedes Varnado (former WWE world champion), as well as numerous international stars, including the Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna and the director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer),, the actress and businesswoman Lisa Soberano, the Japanese TV personality and former Japanese decathlon champion I know Takei, the actress, singer and model Chiaki Kuriyama, and Japanese nightclub host, entrepreneur and TV personality Roland.

The Anime Awards pre-show, hosted by Lauren Moore e Tim Lyu of Crunchyroll with the content creator Lena Lemon, was also a celebrity and influencer event featuring the GRAMMY-nominated musician Porter robinson, the international drag performer and DJ Aquaria (winner of season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race), the recording artist, producer and DJ Yaeji, the rapper and artist What a Lingo, the model, voice actor and film actor Vinnie Hacker, the fashion creator Nava Rose, the streamer Emir and recording artist Ylona Garcia.

Fans around the world witnessed a series of musical performances during the show, including the first live performance of the official Anime Awards song, created and performed by the composers Hiroyuki SAWANO (Attack on Titan, Solo Leveling) to KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins), a rendition of “battlecry,” the opening song of Samurai Champloo, performed by Shing02, OMA e SPIN MASTER A-1 to commemorate the series' 20th anniversary, and a rousing performance of "Idol" by the Japanese pop duo YOASOBI, who performed at the Anime Awards before their Coachella concert. To honor fan-favorite anime series celebrating milestone anniversaries, a unique medley of iconic songs from each series was performed by a live orchestra in symphony format.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards is the premier annual awards program celebrating the creators and performers who have contributed to anime's continued rise to pop culture dominance. This year, fans around the world cast a record 34 million votes to encourage their favorites to take home the top prizes, with some of the most involved countries including – in alphabetical order – Argentina, Australia , Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Mexico, Spain and the United States. The 2024 Anime Awards will be available to stream soon on Crunchyroll official YouTube channel and on Twitch.
