Diwali coloring pages, one of the main Indian holidays

Diwali is one of the most important Indian holidays and is celebrated in the month of October or November. Diwali is a festival that symbolizes the victory of good over evil and is called the "festival of lights" and in fact it is celebrated by lighting candles or traditional lamps called diya. The most popular legend associated with the festival is the one that tells the return of King Rāma from the city of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile in a forest. The people of the city, on the return of the king, lit rows of lamps (dipa) in honor of him. Hence the name Dipawali or simply Diwali. Diwali celebrations last for five days in the Hindu month of ashwayuja which usually falls between October and November. For Hindus and Jains it is a celebration of life and an opportunity to strengthen ties with family and friends. For the Jains, moreover, it represents the beginning of the year.
