Go Nagai announces the new project for Grendizer

There is a date that all of us lovers of animation, but also of comics, Japanese cannot forget: 4 April 1978. More than 40 years have passed since that spring evening in which on the second Rai network, the then announcer, Maria Giovanna Elmi presented a new program of science fiction cartoons from Japan: it was broadcast under the title of Atlas Ufo Robot, but remained in the collective memory as GrendizerObviously, no one could know at the time (and didn't even care) that it was the latest effort in a robotic trilogy by the master. Go Nagai and that therefore the giant robbot with the space halberd was related to Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger (chronologically previous but transmitted later) and not even the many inaccuracies of the Italian dubbing and the fluctuating graphics in the episodes were paid attention to.

Fans of yesterday and today will therefore be happy to hear that Dynamic Scheduling announced in these hours that a new project inspired by this historic anime mecha is now in the works for publication in 2023 with the title of Project G

Further details are currently unknown, what we do know is that Go Nagai will be involved as an executive producer. He says it himself in the PV teaser that we propose below, promising something important: "A new project for Grendizer is about to be launched. Japan's best staff members will come together to create something extraordinary. Look forward to it".

In the same hours, during an event in the Riyadh Boulevard City area of Saudi Arabia, Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the MISK Foundation of Saudi Arabia, announced the release of Project G, described as a worldwide initiative unique in its genre that gives fans the chance to help shape the future of the franchise.

The project was developed and launched in collaboration with numerous Japanese partners with experience and expertise in anime production, including the rights holders of the Grendizer series.

"We are here to announce the G project, which is about the anime 'Grendizer', and to announce the partnership between Manga Productions and the Japanese company Dynamic ProductionsAbdulaziz Al-Naghmoush, marketing manager of Manga Productions, told Arab News.

Thursday's event also defined the publication of a global competition that offers anime and manga fans the chance to create hostile UFO vehicles known as “Saucer Beasts” (our Vega fleet) that will be featured in the next project. Three winners will share a total cash prize of $ 15.000.
