The game celebrates the tenth anniversary of the series and was launched on February 13th in Japan.

The game has 101 songs, which includes songs from the history of the series and new songs. The game also includes 300 costumes. The new songs will be available as downloadable content for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone e Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone DX Play station 4 games. There's also an Arcade mode that features traditional control buttons and a new Mix mode where players shake the Switch's Joy-Con controllers to the beat.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone it was the previous main game in the series, and it is launched in the Americas and Europe in January 2017. The game debuted in Japan in June 2016 as a port of the Hatsune Miku: DIVA Arcade Project PS4 games. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone DX is a re-release of the game that includes all the DLC.
