The film "Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle" will debut on Netflix on October 8th

The Pokémon Company International and Netflix today announced that the next animated film in the Pokémon series - Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle - will premiere on Netflix worldwide, with the exception of Japan, China and Korea on October 8. First announced in November 2020, this 23rd Pokémon animated film in the series comes to mark the 25th anniversary of the worldwide phenomenon. The first official international trailer was released on September 8th.

“During Pokémon's 25th anniversary, we wanted fans to have the opportunity to experience the new Pokémon animated film simultaneously as a worldwide community,” said Emily Arons, SVP of Licensing at The Pokémon Company International. "Pokémon animation is a much loved pillar of the franchise and Netflix is ​​the perfect partner to help us once again deliver a world moment for fans as we celebrate 25 years of action and adventure with Ash and his Pikachu."

Deep in the Okoya Forest, the Mythical Pokémon Zarude lives in a troop and maintains a strict rule that prohibits outsiders from entering their territory. Elsewhere in the jungle lives Koko, a human boy raised by a lonely Zarude who has left the troop. Koko grew up never doubting that he was a Zarude. But one day, a chance encounter with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with her first human friend. Is it really a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the jungle, the bonds between Pokémon and humans, and the love between parent and child, will be tested.

The trailer features two original songs, "Always Safe" and "No Matter What", written and recorded by musical artist Cyn specifically for The secrets of the jungle. These songs will be available to stream on popular music platforms day and date with the Netflix premiere of the film. Cyn is also one of the many notable artists participating in the P25 Music program that celebrates 25 years of Pokémon for which she wrote and recorded another new song "Wonderful".

To further celebrate the announcement: starting today, Trainers will be able to receive the alternate form of Zarude featured in the film, as well as Shiny Celebi, in their video games. Sword Pokémon o Shield Pokémon  by signing up for Pokémon Trainer Club email notifications by September 25, 2021. Trainers who register in this way will receive a Pokémon Trainer Club email containing a distribution code for both on October 7, 2021.
