Crunchyroll Original Series Trailers "High Guardian Spice"
The original series produced by Crunchyroll High Guardian Spice is poised to bring a new flavor to the anime platform's lineup, as it makes its streaming debut with 12 episodes on Tuesday, October 26th. Made and produced by animation artist Raye Rodriguez, comes the fantastic adventure comedy about four young heroines in lineup complete with a timely Halloween episode.
Crunchyroll also revealed a new trailer and the mission-ready English-language voice cast.
High Guardian Spice follows what happens when the lives of four ferocious girls converge at the High Guardian Academy, the only place they can comically stumble into adulthood and become the heroes they have always admired. As they master the ways of battle and sorcery, the four form alliances, uncover legacies, face betrayal and discover their true identity as they prepare to protect the world from a menacing unknown threat.
The cast of the original dubbing of the series includes:
- Briana Leon like Rosemary, the enthusiastic adventurer bent on becoming a Guardian
- Lauren White like wise, Rosemary's best friend and witch who specializes in Old Magic
- Amber Romero like Parsley, an optimistic dwarf and expert blacksmith
- Michelle Deco like Timo, an independent elf and a talented archer
- AJ Beckles like Mandrake, a powerful witch and shapeshifter
- Anthony Brandon Walker as Professor Hakone, a Guardian and professor of battle tactics
- Barbara Goodson like Parnelle, the youngest student of the High Guardian Academy
- Cam Clarke like Neppy cat, a cat that hangs out near the High Guardian Academy with a secret ability
- Julia Kaye like Leon's mouth, Amaryllis' sarcastic best friend who really doesn't feel right
- Julian Koster like Slime boy, a second year witch, musician and lover of monsters
- Katie McVay like amaryllis, a licensed witch and a school bully
- Lisa Lee like Lavender, Rosemary's mother and a famous and powerful Guardian who passed away four years ago
- Show creator Ray Rodriguez like Professor Caraway, a mighty Guardian and professor of sacred alphabets at the High Guardian Academy
A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Raye Rodriguez began his career as a director, storyboard artist and character designer at Fox Animation Domination High-Definition (Fox ADHD). He worked as a Character Designer at PUNY Entertainment on Danger and eggs for Amazon Studios and as a Storyboard Artist at Sprite Animation on Tinpo for CBeebies.
Rodriguez is a consummate creator and connoisseur of anime who, as a second-generation American transgender and Cuban man, is passionate about telling diverse and inclusive stories. He dreams of making the world a more loving and empathetic place by sharing fantastic stories about strange, different and recognizable characters. Rodriguez is currently developing an original animated drama series for Legendary TV and is also developing a new animated series around one of Warner Bros. Animation's DC characters. He is represented by Matt Shichtman at Gotham Group and Ryan and Jesse Nord at The Nord Group.
