"Koala Man" Michael Cusack's animated series on Hulu

Hulu, the American streaming platform, has announced the original animated series Koala man, created by Michael Cusack (YOLO: Crystal Fantasy), with Benjit Samit and Dan Hernandez. Consisting of eight episodes, the series is produced by 20th Television Animation, with Justin Roland, Princess Pictures and Bento Box serving as executive producers.

The cartoons are about the genre of family comedy for adults, in which the patriarch experiences the not-so-secret double identity of Koala Man, an Australian suburban superhero with no powers, but a burning passion to crack down on petty crime and bring order to the community.

Koala man the collaboration between Hulu, Roiland and 20th Television Animation continues, specializing in successful adult animated series such as Solar opposites (Season 2 arrives on March 26). The first season premiered on May 8, 2020 and became the most-watched first Hulu original comedy of the year on the streaming platform. Australian author Michael Cusack has achieved notoriety with Internet hits including Ciggy Butt Brain, with his cult favorites Damo & Darren, before he was chosen for the cult series Rick and Morty . In 2020 he released his first series YOLO: Crystal Fantasy on Adult Swim and HBO Max.

Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are writer-producers whose TV credits include Central Park, the candidate for Peabody One day at a time, The Tick, Super Fun Night e 1600 pens. Their show Ultra Violet & Blue Demon, played by famed luchador Blue Demon Jr., was recently commissioned for a series on the Disney Channel. As for the animated films Hernandez and Samit wrote Pokémon Detective Pikachu, which grossed $ 433 million at the box office and was the first video game adaptation to receive a “Fresh” soundtrack for Rotten Tomatoes. The latest works include the sketches of La Addams Family 2 (MGM) and Night Wolf (STX). Named one of Variety's "10 Writers to Watch" of 2019, the two met and began writing together as they completed their undergraduate degrees at Brown University and have been producing and writing partners ever since. They are represented by 3Arts, UTA and Jackoway Tyerman.

Koala man joins Hulu's growing list of adult animated original series, including Solar Opposites, crossing swords and the upcoming Marvel's MODOK (21 May) e Marvel's Hit Monkey.
