History

The story centers on a team of XNUMX-year-olds (Dash, Zandra and Cole) whose lives are turned upside down when they find themselves having to fight with the most ferocious and spiteful monsters imaginable. The good news is that monsters are so small they can fit in their pockets!

Children must fight alongside these pocket monsters to save the world from an ancient evil force. However, they also have to face something scarier than all supernatural creatures: middle school! In the new series, the boys will face a hyperactive werewolf with questionable hygiene, break curfew with a rebellious vampire, and play video games with the Algonquin Wendigo.

Production

It's a very popular property-based action comedy show with not only great storytelling, but also state-of-the-art CGI animations and special effects. The series has huge global potential because you can create endless adventures by creating endless armies of good and bad monsters. The concept was revisited to create a pure action comedy show and set in today's high-tech environment.

The 1992 animated special

In 1992 the animated special was made, Monster in My Pocket: The Big Scream , produced by Hanna-Barbera and directed by Don Lusk from a screenplay by Glen Leopold, in which Vampire, voiced by Rob Paulsen) became the leader of the villains and Invisible Man, now called Dr. Henry Davenport, was in charge of the heroes. Swamp Beast (voiced by Frank Welker) was a brainless villain among other changes, as the former white-furred werewolf (although in the fourth issue he was changed to brown) who became the Jamaican "Wolf-Mon" (voiced by Stuart K. Robinson).

The other good monsters were Big Ed (The Monster, also voiced by Welker) and Mummy (voiced by Marvin Kaplan), while Medusa (voiced by BJ Ward) remained in the ranks of the evil monsters. A few others, such as Tyrannosaurus Rex and Cyclops, were shown for a second or two during the prologue.

The prologue showed that the Invisible Man and the other good monsters had managed to capture and imprison all the evil monsters in Monster Mountain, now a prison guarded by the good monsters rather than a meeting place (as it had been in the comic). , and Vampire tried to escape by shrinking. But the spell backfired and caused all monsters, as well as good monsters, to shrink to an inch in height and blew up the shrunken mountain in Los Angeles. This time, their human host is Carrie Raven, daughter of Edgar Raven, a famous horror writer. Evil monsters learn that they would grow to the sound of screams, while good monsters grow from laughter. The story was that both factions of monsters were trying to regain their size to either resume their evil ways or win back the evil monsters before they could do any serious damage.

This special aired on Halloween 1992 on ABC, but it wasn't released to all markets. Early versions of Vidmark Entertainment's video special featured a monster that glows in the dark: Charun, Thunderdell or Yama.
