My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered – The 2024 anime series

In the Japanese animation landscape, the isekai genre continues to reap successes, and the “My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered” series is no exception. With its first trailer just released, the series promises to bring a breath of fresh air and comedy to the industry.

The series, based on Tsuyoshi Fujikata's light novel of the same name, began as a web novel before being published by Earth Star Entertainment and concluded its run in 14 volumes. Its popularity is such that it has also generated a manga adaptation, still in progress, and is now preparing to conquer the public also in the form of anime.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the world of “My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered,” introducing some of the voice actors who will lend their voices to the main characters. Among these we find Rina Sato, who voices Sage Lain, one of the first antagonists of the series. Alongside her are Hiro Shimono, Yoshiki Murakami and Lynn, respectively in the guise of Daimon Hanakawa, Yuki Tachibana and Asaka Takatoi.

The production of the anime is entrusted to the studio Okuruto Noboru Inc., known for other successful titles such as “The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter” and “How Not to Summon a Demon Lord”. We find Masakazu Hishida directing, who also takes care of the screenplay, while the character designs are handled by Sayuri Sakimoto. The soundtrack is by Hanae Nakamura, with Takatoshi Hamano as sound director. Koki Uchiyama and Miyu Tomita will voice the main protagonists, Yogiri Takatou and Tomochika Dannoura.

The plot of “My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered” revolves around Yogiri Takatou, who wakes up in a chaotic world after a school trip, discovering that his class has been transported to another world. While they all received special powers from a mysterious Sage, he was neglected and, along with another classmate, abandoned as bait for a dragon. However, Yogiri possesses a secret power: the ability to instantly kill anyone with a single thought.

The anime “My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered” will air in January 2024 and will be available for streaming on HIDIVE.

With a mix of action, adventure and a pinch of black humor, this series is preparing to become a new point of reference for fans of the isekai genre, where the protagonists are transported to a parallel world. It remains to be seen whether it will be able to meet audience expectations and leave a mark on the world of animation.
