"Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank" the animated film from Paramount Pictures

It's raining cats and dogs all over feudal Japan in the brand new trailer for Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank (Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank) released today by Paramount Pictures. The new commercial comes complete with an introduction from voice actress Samuel L. Jackson. The underdog story will arrive exclusively in theaters the 15 July.

When a city of cats is in danger, an unlikely hero arises ... a dog named Hank!

Plot: Hank (voiced by Michael Cera) a tough and hapless hound finds himself in a city full of cats who need a hero to defend them from the evil plot of a ruthless villain (Ricky Gervais) to wipe their village off the map. With the help of a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson) to train him, our loser must assume the role of the citizen samurai and work with the villagers to save the day. The only problem… cats hate dogs!

Also in the cast are Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, Kylie Kuioka and Cathy Shim.

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King) and Mark Koetsier (How to Train Your Dragon), written by Nate Hopper (The Grinch). Producers are Adam Nagle, Peter Nagle, Guy Collins, Mel Brooks, Yair Landau and Susan Purcell.

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies with Align and Aniventure in attendance, in association with HB Wink Animation and GFM Animation; a Flying Tigers Entertainment production in association with Aniventure in association with Cinesite.

The film will also be available on Sky Cinema (UK) this summer as Sky Original.

Paramount Pictures today released a new trailer for its upcoming animated comedy, Paws of the Fury: The Legend of Hank , laying down some sizzling lines from the stellar cast and shocking viewers with so much samurai slapstick action, is enough to make you say, "What's going on here cockerspanel mother father?"

Fans can also check out a new minigame released today, Jimbo's Samurai Training , available online . The film will debut in US theaters on July 15.
