Poochie is an American animated series created in 1984 by DIC Entertainment directed by Kazuo Terada for a total of 38 episodes.

Born in the early eighties, it has achieved great popularity in the USA, Great Britain and Italy. Numerous gadgets have been produced with his image, ranging from soft toys to stamps, from school backpacks to diaries.

In Italy a magazine dedicated to her was also printed for many years entitled Il Giornalino di Poochie.

History

Poochie is a white dog, with thick pink hair gathered in two side tails, she wears a pair of purple glasses resting on her head and a golden collar with a red heart-shaped pendant; it is also very flashy and quite pretty. At the "Prince Publication" newspaper in New York, Poochie runs a personal column entitled "Cara Poochie", in which he responds to letters from his loyal admirers. Still in the same skyscraper, the protagonist has a hyper-technological attic, from which she plans incredible heroic missions, together with her robotic assistant Hearli, to go and save anyone who asks her from trouble.
