Stonerunner the science fiction animated film about robots

UK-based SC Films International has acquired the worldwide sales rights for Stonerunners, a new co-production of Australian-New Zealand animated films. The project will be presented to buyers at the American Film Market (November 9-13).

Stonerunners is a science fiction adventure set in the distant future, where the world is slowly being rebuilt after machines have destroyed the planet. The action follows a young boy who must fight for his family and their freedom with the help of a benevolent robot.

The film is a co-production of Huhu Animation Studios in New Zealand, Accent Media Group and FG Film Productions in Australia. Pre-production will begin in December, with delivery scheduled for December 2022 with the aim of a theatrical release in 2023.

Stonerunners will be directed by Steve Tranbirth (Il libro della giungla 2; animation director, Lady and the Tramp 2, The Lion King 2, Aladdin 2) from a screenplay by Paul Western-Pittard (Get Ace) and Ray Boseley (Get Ace, bitten by fleas). The producers are Trevor Yaxley, Peter Campbell and Anthony I. Ginnane. Executive producers are Simon Crowe, Henry Wong, Caroline Campbell and Anthony J. Lyons.

SC Films' animated film sales list also includes upcoming titles Marmaduke, Dragonkeeper, My Father's Secrets e Best birthday ever.
