South Park – The Movie: Bigger, Longer & In One Piece – the 1999 adult animated film

“South Park – The Movie: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” (Original title: “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut”) is a 1999 animated film directed by Trey Parker, based on the famous animated series “ South Park”, of which Parker is creator, director and producer together with Matt Stone. The film, which has English as its original language, was produced in the United States of America and has a duration of 81 minutes. The genre of the film is a mix of animation, comedy and musical.

The film is notable for its Guinness World Record record as the animated film with the most swear words and offensive elements, containing 399 offensive terms, 221 acts of violence and 199 offensive gestures. The plot follows the four young protagonists of the series (Eric Cartman, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski and Kenny McCormick) who, despite the opposition of their mothers, go to see a very vulgar Canadian film starring their idols Trombino and Pompadour. The experience at the cinema leads children to imitate the behavior and language of the characters, causing scandal among adults.

When Kenny dies in a freak accident and ends up in hell, things get worse. The South Park moms begin to boycott all things Canadian, leading to President Bill Clinton's declaration of war on Canada. The film explores themes such as censorship, guilt and satire on various aspects of popular culture and politics.

The film was released theatrically in the United States on June 30, 1999 and in Italy on May 12, 2000. The film's soundtrack, released on June 15, 1999, includes the song "Blame Canada", which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best song in 2000.

On the reception front, “South Park” has received generally positive reviews, with a score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and 73 out of 100 on Metacritic. The film was produced on a budget of $21 million and grossed $83,1 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing adult animated film until 2016.

“South Park: The Movie: Bigger, Longer & In One Piece” is a bold and provocative work that extends the humor and signature style of the TV series “South Park” to the big screen, tackling controversial issues with a satirical approach and without compromises.
