Studio Durian designs an anime film project Shishigari - News

Studio produced the anime short "Shishigari", which premiered at the Fantasia Festival last year

Yuki nagano animation studio Studio Durian confirmed with ANN on Sunday that the company is looking to produce a screen version of its anime short "Shishigari". Nagano said the film is currently in the planning stage and is looking to raise money. As such, Studio Durian does not yet know of a potential production start time for the film. Nagano also said that Studio Durian hopes to face the challenge of producing works of various genres in the future.

Anime officer website lists a synopsis of the history of the film project:

A boy lives a quiet life in a small town in the middle of the mountains.
One day, Oni suddenly appears and takes everything from the boy.
He travels to follow them and recover the people they kidnapped.
After a long journey, he meets a huge colony of millions of Oni, called "Oni Hill".

Durian study revealed the anime "Shishigari" (Lion Hunter) corto in April 2019. Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers) directed the short film and also received credit for the plot concept, screenplay and as an animator. Megumi han he played the main character "Boy".

Deep in the northern mountains, there are people who have lived with the blessings of the mountains. A boy, who is coming of age, goes to the mountains for his first hunt. You have to find the "Kuroshishi". The mountain is a world where life and death are divided by a thin line like paper. Sometimes nature will show its fangs ...

The Fantasia Festival in Montreal, Canada hosted World preview of the short film last July. Other staff members included background artist Kevin Aymeric (Table tennis), composer and publisher Yoichi Senzui (The wind increases, Tale of Princess Kaguya), composer Kenji kawai (Patlabor, Ghost in the shell, Gundam 00), sound director Kazuhiro Wakabayashi (Principessa Mononoke, Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade) to Kaori Yamada (Mitsuboshi colors, Hanebad!) for sound effects.
