Toei animation will promote “World Trigger” with a worldwide live streaming

In the wake of the world premiere of the second season, Toei Animation Inc. has unveiled the details of its special World Triggers, a live streaming event that was presented to fans just before Christmas. To celebrate the launch of the new season, Toei Animation will host its first global virtual event for fans around the world on Saturday 30 January: the World Trigger Season 2 Global Livestream Watch Party. Anime fans from the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe will be able to reunite for a special simultaneous event on Toei Animation's Facebook and YouTube channels.

Hosted by social media celebrities Justin rojas (HomeCon / Envy Gaming) and Lisa wallen (Kawaii Five-O Podcast), the  World Trigger Season 2 Global Livestream Watch Party will include an introduction to the series and a special video message for fans of the Japanese cast members Tomo Muranaka (Yūma Kuga), Kenta tanaka (Sumiharu Inukai) Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Ratarykov) and Ayumu Murase (Reghindetz) followed a screening of World Trigger Season 2 Eps 1 and 2 (in Japanese with English subtitles) along with post-episode discussions and promotional giveaways.

This two-hour fan event starts at 17pm. Pacific / 00pm Eastern Saturday. Local international times include: 20:00 Mexico City, 19:00 Sao Paulo, 22 am Paris (Sunday) and 00 pm Sydney (Sunday). Each episode will be followed by guest commentary and fan giveaways.

Based on Shueisha's serialized sci-fi action manga, World Trigger was originally released by Toei Animation as a 73 episode series in 2014-2016. For the production of seasons 2 and 3, Toei Animation has brought together a new director of the series, Morio Hatano (Dragon Ball Super - Future Trunks saga), with the original vocal cast and key members of the original staff, including Hiroyuki Yoshino (author of series compositions for Eps 1-48), Kenji Kawai (music composer) and Toshihisa Kaiya (character designer).

Synopsis of the second season: The Border Defense Agency was set up to counter attacks from "neighbors", beings from the other world who possess unknown forces. A low-ranking border agent, Osamu Mikumo, teams up with a neighbor, Yuma Kuga, and a childhood friend, Chika Amatori. They strive to win wars of rank within the border to be selected for away teams in the "neighborhood", the other world. Meanwhile, another attack from the neighborhood has been detected. Mikado City is still damaged by the second large-scale invasion by the largest military nation, Aftokrator. To avoid panic between the city and the citizens, Border arranges a confidential interception based on Yuichi Jin's foresight by deploying mainly elite A-grade squads.But when a Gate appears and number 1 attacker Kei Tachikawa is about to act, Jin sees a threatening future.
