Trailer: 'Fena: Pirate Princess' hits world screens from August 14th
The swashbuckling samurai / shoujo anime Fena: Pirate Princess is ready to hoist the sails and navigate the screens around the world. The journey begins on Saturday August 14 with a two-episode premiere on Crunchyroll and Adult Swim. The half-hour series, created and directed by Kazuto Nakazawa and animated by Production IG, will air dubbed in English on Adult Swim in North America and will air worldwide outside of Japan on Crunchyroll.
Fena Houtman remembers little of her childhood. Orphaned and raised as a maid in a brothel, her life changes when she escapes to a pirate island where she discovers the truth behind her family. With Fena being the only one capable of uncovering her family's secrets and a formidable crew of pirates at her heels, she must take her place as the captain of her samurai crew for an adventure on the high seas!
The English cast includes:
- Brittany Cox in the role of Fena Houtman: A positive and cheerful orphan despite her traumatic past. Known for her pale skin and bright silver hair.
- Robb Moreira as Yukimaru: The introverted bodyguard of the Houtman family who wields a katana. He is extremely protective of Fena.
- Nicholas Corda as Shitan: This beautiful elite warrior can kill with his bow and arrows or with his appearance. Although on the surface he seems aloof, he values his friends very much.
- Anjali Kunapaneni as Karin: Raised by a family of blacksmiths, Karin is as passionate about technology as her rifle, which she uses to great effect in battle.
- Brandon Winckler as Enju: Kaede's older twin. They both use a spear and a wakizashi in battle, they are both friendly and mischievous, but Enju feels more reliable than his younger brother.
- Darrel J. Delfin as Kaede: The younger twin of Enju. They both use a spear and a wakizashi in battle, they are both friendly and mischievous, but Kaede feels more manly than her older brother.
- Alan Lee as Tsubaki: The oldest and most mature member of the group, he manages everyone's wild energy. He is also the cook, but when fighting he uses a short ninja sword.
- Thomas E. Wynn as Makaba: This mountain of guy prefers to fight at close range with brass knuckles. When he's not fighting, he's kind-hearted and meek.
- Frank Todaro as Salman: An older knight who was once called "Salman the Onslaught" for being so deadly with a spear. She has known Fena since she was a girl while serving the Houtman family for some time.
- Doug Stone plays Otto: Another older knight who served the Houtman family and possessed an intimidating nickname in his younger days: "Otto the Blitz," for his quick swordplay.
