William Shatner collaborates with Pure Imagination for the cartoon "TekWar"

Pure Imagination Studios (Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild) has concluded an agreement with Shatner Universe to develop and produce an adult animated series based on the sci-fi thriller by actor, director, author and singer William Shatner TekWar. The franchise began as a successful book series and grew to a 1994-96 live-action TV series featuring Shatner, as well as a comic book series and video game. Matt Michnovetz will develop and write the mix-reality animated series, the first step in building a real-time multiverse around Shatner's ownership and vision.

TekWar is based on Shatner's bestselling crime novel series, released in 1989. The novels are set in the year 2043 and focus on a former detective in futuristic Los Angeles who was framed for the crime of smuggling an illegal drug, who alters the mind in the form of a biodigital microchip. This “teak” poses a great threat to humanity and has the potential to become a virus that will lead to an irrecoverable future.

TekWar it is conceptualized from the outset as a mixed reality animated series, in which viewers will be able to participate in the show in different forms of technology via mobile, tablet or wearable devices. The series can be seen on its own, but the level of immersion in the show, its characters and technology is further enhanced by the ability to become part of the storytelling.
