“Chicago Party Aunt”, Netflix's new adult cartoon

Netflix announces a new animated series for adults, on the comedy genre entitled Chicago Party Aunt (Aunt from the Chicago party), by creators / executive producers Chris Witaske, Jon Barinholtz and Katie Rich. Netflix announced the cast of original voice actors for the half-hour comedy, which follows Diane Dunbrowski - aka Chicago's party aunt - as she follows her mantra, “If life gives you lemons, turn that shit into Mike's Hard. Lemonade ".

The series will be produced by Titmouse (the same as Big MouthHuman Resources) for a total of 16 episodes, which will arrive in two batches of 8 x 30 '. Emmy-nominated writer / producer Matt Craig (New Looney Tunes, LEGO City Adventures, Live Saturday night) acts as showrunner. Executive producers are Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen (for 23/34), Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz (Olive Bridge Entertainment) and Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina (Titmouse).

The cast of voice actors:

  • Lauren Ash as Diane Dunbrowski. Diane has always been and always will be the life of the party, even when the party is long over. His complete lack of maturity is perfectly balanced by his heart of gold and a desire to help others. A Chicago sports enthusiast and a general fan of Italian meat to be washed down with lots of Malort and beer, Diane would do anything for her city and continue to live every day as if it were an 80s tour bus.
  • Rory O'Malley as Daniel. Daniel upsets his family when he decides to give up Stanford for a "gap year" by living in town with his beloved Aunt Diane to find his own way and figure out what he wants to do with his life. Daniel is gay and Diane is determined to be his working-class fairy godmother who helps pull him out of his shell as he pledges to help her navigate the waters of the increasingly socially complex world around her.
  • RuPaul Charles as Gideon. Gideon disrupts Diane's working life by transforming their local barbershop into a New York-style salon called Borough. Gideon is a fish out of water in Chicago but with an attitude. He's the new boss in town and not even Diane can stand in his way of fighting for the top of the business world, although she sure knows how to make her life more difficult.
  • Jill Talley plays Bonnie. A button-down, Type A control freak, Bonnie enjoys the finer things in life after leaving the working class neighborhood in southern Chicago where she and her carefree older sister Diane grew up. As the mother of her precious Daniel, she struggles to loosen the reins as Daniel goes against the grain on his gap year, but make no mistake, there's nothing he wouldn't do for his family.
  • Ike Barinholtz plays Mark. Mark is the sweetest, dumbest, and least adventurous white suburban male who thinks living on the edge would mean staying up until ten or maybe drinking a pop before bed.
  • Jon Barinholtz plays Mikey. Diane and Kurt's son Mikey is the kindest giant in the neighborhood. His height may be better representative of the size of his heart. Affectionate and sweet, caring if not very bright, Mikey cares so much for both of his parents that they may never get along.
  • Da'Vine Joy Randolph plays Tina. Tina spends her days working alongside Zuzana, Gideon and Diane, when Diane actually comes to work. Tina brings just the right amount of attitude to keep Diane in check. Responsible and intelligent, Tina is motivated to keep her client list long and her side businesses are booming.
  • Katie Rich plays Zuzana. Straight off the boat from Poland, Zuzana worked extensively alongside Diane and Tina at the show, delivering a bit of comedy as she injected her truly unique Polish twist on modern Chicago scenarios. Her comparisons are different from everyone else and although they are so different from Tina and Diane, they all work well together somehow.
  • Chris Witaske plays Kurt. Hard working TSA agent, the second time Diane's ex-husband got into trouble with Diane and eventually moved in and supposedly ended things forever. Kurt will always have a soft spot for his ex-wife.

Witaske is an actor and alumni of the Second City Theater in Chicago. Jon Barinholtz (brother of Ike Barinholtz) was a writer for MADtv and has starred in live-action and animation. Rich is a four-time Emmy-nominated writer and a two-time WGA Award winner for SNL; she has also played multiple voice roles for Our cartoon president.
