“The art, animation and lighting of the Disney and Pixar Soul films” AT VIEW Conference 2020 in Turin

The new animated feature film from Disney and Pixar Soul will be celebrated on October 23 at VIEW Conference 2020, at 17.00 pm, with the special presentation “The Art, Animation and Lighting of the Disney and Pixar film Soul”With Bobby Podesta, Markus Kranzler and Max Bickley of Pixar Animation Studios.

Pixar is known for transporting audiences to places we've all imagined but have never seen before, and Soul it makes no difference. Set largely in the Anti-World, the ethereal and cosmic world where souls receive their personalities before going to Earth, the film represented a unique creative challenge. What should such a world have been like? And, once director Pete Docter and his art team imagined this hugely imaginative world, how would it be computer-constructed and populated with anime characters?

Animation supervisor Bobby Podesta, lead lighting technical director Max Bickley and technical director Markus Kranzler will talk about their artistic and technical approach to creating the Anti-World, the place where souls receive their personality before going to Earth. .

VIEW Conference 2020 takes place in Turin, Piedmont, from The 18 23 October, and all sessions are available online. Moreover, for this year only, both the regular program and the special Summit on Innovative Business are totally free, by registering at the following link: https://www.viewconference.it/it/pages/registration.

SOUL
What really makes you yourself? The new feature film from Pixar Animation Studios Soul introduces Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher who has the unique opportunity to play at the best jazz venue in town. But one small misstep will take him from the streets of New York City to the Anti-World, a fantastic place where new souls develop personalities, interests and quirks before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe allies himself with 22, a precocious soul who never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what makes life so special, he'll find answers to the most important questions about existence.

The new Disney and Pixar movie Soul is directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter (Inside OutUp), co-directed by Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami) and produced by Academy Award nominee Dana Murray, pga (the Pixar short Lou).
