Rebels from the repressed underground city of Zaun march across a bridge to Piltover, resulting in a brutal push back by law enforcement from Piltover. During the battle, the Powder sisters find their parents dead in the rubble and are greeted by Vander, the leader of the failed rebellion, like his own daughters. Years later, Vi and Powder rob a penthouse in piltovan, with their adoptive brothers, Mylo and Claggor, after getting a tip from their friend Ekko. The dust steals a series of magical crystals, accidentally breaking one when the owner of the penthouse returns. The resulting explosion destroys much of the building and warns law enforcement of their presence, which they narrowly escape. Returning to the underground city, the brothers meet Deckard and his henchmen; as they beat them in a fist fight, Powder is chased and throws the loot into the ocean to distract and get rid of his pursuer. Vander, now a bartender and de facto leader of the Zaun community, berates the children for their negligence and attempts to smooth things out with Grayson, the law enforcement sheriff. She scolds Mylo for calling Powder a "bad luck" and reassures her sister that things will get better. In the lower parts of the underground city, crime lord Silco extracts information from Deckard and tests a new mutagen known as Shimmer on a mouse that brutally kills a cat. and reassures his sister that things will get better. 2 2 "Some mysteries should remain unsolved”Nick Luddington November 6, 2021
The crystals Powder and Vi stole turn out to be made by Jayce, a student of Piltover's academy, and Piltover's board of directors calls him to testify for illegally experimenting with arcane magic. Jayce was saved from arcane magic as a child and believes it may be a new resource for Piltover's evolution, but the academy expels him for endangering the city and the search for him should be discarded. His convictions are renewed, however, when Viktor, the disabled assistant to the Heimerdinger Academy professor, offers to help him. Back in Zaun, Grayson and his partner Marcus press Vander to reveal the real culprits of the robbery, while the citizens of Zaun push him to fight against law enforcement who cross their borders. He chooses to keep his family safe and remain neutral.

3 3 "The use of brutal violence for change”Ash Brannon November 6, 2021

Years ago, Silco and Vander were partners who fought together to rid the underground city of Piltover. That changed when Vander betrayed Silco and tried to drown him in Zaun's toxic river. Nowadays, Vander prevents Vi from turning himself in. He is then taken hostage by Silco after the mutated Deckard kills Grayson and his men, sparing only Marcus. Vi, Mylo and Claggor go to rescue him, leaving Powder and Ekko behind for their own safety. In Piltover, Jayce and Viktor secretly work with crystals under the discretion of counselor Mel Medarda and invent Hextech, a new arcane technology. Back in the underground city, the brothers reach Vander but are interrupted by Silco. There he fights Silco's thugs, but is badly beaten by Deckard. The dust, attempting to save her, detonates one of the crystals in a massive explosion that kills Claggor and Mylo. Vander, mortally wounded by Silco, injects himself with Shimmer, kills Deckard, and saves Vi before dying. In her grief, Powder hits Vi, angrily calling her a "bad luck" before walking away. She sees Silco approaching and tries to return to her sister, but she is ambushed and captured by Marcus. A grieving dust, believing that Vi has abandoned it, breaks in Silco's arms; he hugs Powder and tells her that "We will show them all".

4 1 "Happy Progress Day!"David Dunne November 13, 2021

Several years later, Piltover is thriving with Jayce's Hextech technology and celebrates its 200th anniversary at a party called Progress Day. Jayce initially hopes to reveal him and Viktor's latest gemstone device at the ceremony, but decides not to after Heimerdinger warns him of the dangers he could pose. Elsewhere, Powder, now a teenager named Jinx, works for Silco and helps him smuggle materials, mainly Shimmer, to Piltover. When a job goes wrong due to the involvement of an underground gang known as the Firelights and a brief hallucination from Vi, Jinx attempts to impress Silco by stealing Jayce's gem and causing an explosion that kills six law enforcement officers. Piltover's governing council gives Jayce a place to protect their people from the stolen gem. Caitlyn, an inexperienced hitwoman and Jayce's childhood friend, travels to Stillwater Prison to gather information about Jinx from one of Silco's henchmen. Instead, she meets an adult Vi, having been imprisoned by Marcus.

5 2 "Everyone wants to be my enemies"Amanda Overton November 13, 2021

Arriving at an underground brothel, they quickly learn of Jinx's relationship with Silco. Vi tries to interrogate Silco's second-in-command, Sevika, but is stabbed in the ensuing fight. Meanwhile, it is revealed that, with Silco's help, Marcus has been promoted to law enforcement sheriff. In return, he must allow Shimmer to be smuggled and blame the bombing and robbery on Progress Day on the Firelights. Jinx refuses to work on the new Hextech gemstones due to the trauma of killing his family with a similar device. In response, Silco takes her to the river where Vander tried to drown him and convinces Powder to accept his new identity as Jinx. Back in Piltover, Jayce begins a romantic relationship with councilor Medarda. Meanwhile, Viktor's illness worsens and he becomes increasingly desperate to find a cure through Hextech technology.

6 3 "When the walls collapse"Alessio Yes November 13, 2021

After Viktor collapses in the lab due to his illness, he and Jayce begin studying “Hexcore,” a new Hextech machine that reacts to organic matter and has the potential to cure it. Heimerdinger tries to destroy him due to his danger, prompting Jayce to orchestrate his removal from the council. Viktor approaches Singed, his childhood mentor, to help perfect Hexcore. Marcus receives orders from Silco to kill Caitlyn and Vi and, knowing that this conflict will lead to a battle with Zaun, prepares Piltover's defenses. Vi and Caitlyn find a refuge deep in Zaun so that Vi can recover from her fight with Sevika, but Silco finds them after bribing local drug addicts with Shimmer. The couple manages to escape. Having recently learned of Vi's return, Jinx turns on a glow that Vi gave her prior to their ill-fated mission to save Vander years ago. She sees him there and the two sisters are reunited. However, Caitlyn's presence triggers Jinx's distrust. The Firelights appear, steal the gem, and kidnap Caitlyn and Vi.
Act 3

7 1 "The Savior Boy”Nick Luddington November 20, 2021

The leader of the Firelights turns out to be Ekko, now a gruff and battle-hardened warrior. He explains to Vi that the "Dust" he knew is gone and is now Jinx. Silco took over the subway after Vander's death and made the population dependent on Shimmer. Under Ekko, the Firelights spearheaded efforts to counter Silco and rehabilitate drug addicts. Jinx gets mad at Silco for hiding Vi's return from her, but he convinces her to continue doing her will. After the escalating turmoil between the two cities, Mel convinces Jayce to work on Hextech weapons. At Singed's suggestion, Viktor uses Shimmer to allow the Hexcore to modify his decaying body, while moving away from an untrustworthy Jayce. Ekko and Caitlyn try to return the gem to Piltover, encountering Marcus at a block. He goes back to look for Jinx. After Marcus betrayed Caitlyn, Vi comes back to help her. An expectant Jinx takes this as Vi's preference for Caitlyn over her, and detonates a swarm of robotic butterflies on the bridge.
