Peace of Mind the Blue Zoo virtual reality cartoon

British animation studio Blue Zoo, winner of various BAFTA awards, in partnership with Oculus, presents Peace of Mind (Peace of mind) - a new cartoon made in VR virtual reality, completely in Quill. This creative and engaging experience can be watched on Oculus Quest & Rift.

Peace of Mind is a bizarre and surreal virtual reality film, a "live dream interpretation experience" in which you see the protagonist's recurring dream presented before your eyes, but not quite as expected. Starting from a virtual waiting room, a hasty voiceover is heard welcoming the protagonist, Mr. Burridge, to help him make sense of a night dream. But the voiceover seems more bureaucratic than useful, and the following is an original version of Mr Burridge's dream.

With a distinct distinctive ambiance and design, Peace of Mind (Peace of mind) uses the VR medium by placing the viewer in a first-person perspective, while experiencing the amazing nature of Mr Burridge's dream interpretation. Director Ben Steer worked with the creative team behind Blue Zoo's VR short The Beast (The beast) to capture this unique story that starts out absurd and borders on nightmare.

"As my VR directorial debut, Peace of Mind it was a very exciting and unique challenge, ”said Steer. "Throughout the production, I was extremely fortunate to be surrounded by an exceptionally talented team, both here at the Blue Zoo and in Quill, who helped create this colorful and fun Quill experience."

Damian Hook, Creative Director of Blue Zoo, commented, “We are delighted that Blue Zoo is releasing another film made entirely in Quill. Especially like Peace of Mind shows how VR storytelling tools can be applied in such different contexts than in our latest film, The Beast (The beast). We had a lot of fun making it and we hope everyone has a chance to see it soon “.
