Riley's 11-year-old Mind Control Center is located in Headquarters, where five Emotions are at work, led by the likeable and optimistic Joy, whose mission is to ensure Riley's happiness. Other Emotions include Fear which grants the girl the necessary security, Anger which ensures a sense of fairness and justice, and Disgust which prevents Riley from poisoning herself both physically and socially. Sadness does not know what her role is as it is not clear to others either.

When Riley moves her family to a new metropolis, the Emotions within her immediately get to work, eager to guide her through the difficult transition. However, Joy and Sadness are relegated to a remote corner of his mind, leaving room for Fear, Anger and Disgust. Joy and Sadness venture to unfamiliar places including Long Term Memory, Imageland, Abstract Thinking and Cineproduction, in a desperate attempt to return to HQ and to Riley.

Directed by Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (Monsters & Co., Up), produced by Jonas Rivera, pga (Up), co-directed by Ronnie Del Carmen (Up), Disney • Pixar's Inside Out features original soundtrack by Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up) and will be released in theaters on September 16, 2015.
