The trailer for the new animated science fiction series “FriendZSpace”

Sentient doodles, skeptical robots, kinky attack pizzas - it's all in a light year for FriendZSpace's congenial cosmonaut heroes! To bring its intergalactic message of friendship to audiences on this planet in 2022, the CGI comedy-adventure consisting of 52 11-minute episodes for children ages 5-9 debuts its energetic ET-rich trailer through Animag.

As co-creator Dan Clark, an animation veteran whose many works include Alien Xmas, Team Smithereen, Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers, Yo Gabba Gabba! and The Save-Ums! explains, “FriendZSpace follows the strange and wonderful adventures of three human children and their half robot dog as they explore the super cluster of stars in an attempt to seek out intelligent alien life and make new friends. The series is driven by the act of making friends and all the crazy things that can go comically wrong, and sweetly right, when befriending exotic alien life. Ultimately our alien characters (over 50 new species have been introduced) are just like us.

“This is the key to the narrative: no matter how different people seem at first glance, we are all the same, we are all friendly. Making friends with people who are very different from us involves some degree of risk. FriendZSpace explores that idea with comedy, adventure and heart. "

Announced in August by production partners Studio 100 Group and T&B Media Global, FriendZSpace is a global effort. “We are extremely grateful to be working with such talented teams across the globe; T&B Media in Thailand, Flying Bark Productions in Australia, Studio 100 in Germany, Mighty Animation in Mexico and Bangzoom here in LA, ”Clark notes.

“I am proud that FriendZSpace is a character-based adventure comedy for girls and boys. This show is full of characters, stories and themes that allow all genders to invest in our world and join in the fun, ”series co-creator Oscar Covar tells us at the reveal of the teaser.

Adds Clark, “We've decided to use science fiction to broadly explore children's contemporary culture in real and fun ways,” adds Clark. "We are a kind of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for children aged five to nine!"
