Funimation announces co-production of anime film Sing a Bit of Harmony (Sing a little harmony)

Funimation announced today that it is co-producing the anime film  Sing a Bit of Harmony (Sing some harmony), by the award-winning director Yasuhiro yoshiura. The film tells the story of an intriguing student who recently moved to a new city and a song that brings happiness to her classmates. The film will be released in Japan in 2021 and soon in the United States and Canada.

Yoshiura will write and direct the film. Yoshiura's previous work has won numerous awards, including the Best Film Award to the animation division of the Japan Media Arts Festival for his work on Pathema Inverted: Beginning of the Day and Best Anime Award to the OVA division of the Tokyo International Anime Fair for Time of Eve.

The film crew includes Ichiro Ohkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Lupine the Third Part 5) as a co-writerKanna Kii (The Stranger by the Beach) is the original character designer, with studio JCSTAFF (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon ?, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) managing animation production e Hidekazu Shimamura (Trigun: Badlands Rumble, Code: Geass: Akito the Exiled) as animation director.

The Sing a Bit of Harmony ( Sing some harmony) follows the recent announcement of a new partnership between Funimation and the publisher-distributor VIZ Average to bring a large catalog of famous and iconic titles to the Funimation platform.

VIZ Media's Naruto (original series / 220 episodes), Hunter x Hunter (75 episodes), Sailor Moon R: The Movie, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey e Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent are currently available on the Funimation streaming service. These will soon be added Terra Formars, Terra Formars Revenge, Coppelion, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet e megalobox, with even more anime coming in the coming months.
