Hero Hight school of heroes is a 1981-1982 broadcast cartoon TV series produced by Filmation that made as part of NBC's The Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam! It was a high school where young superheroes were taught how to use their powers and fight crime. It was originally intended to be a new series to be introduced into Filmation's Archie cartoon program. The 1981 series was changed at the last minute because the company's rights to Archie's characters had expired and new characters needed to be made.

26 episodes were produced, with 13 eight-minute stories and 13 twelve-minute stories.

History

The story is set in a zany high school for aspiring superheroes, where young students are taught how they should properly use their powers in the fight against crime. These are the tragicomic adventures of Captain California, his sweetheart Glorious Gal and their friends Rex Ruthless, Dirty Trixie and Misty Magic, who have to fight against the bad guys.

The superhero Shazam often appears in the series.

Characters and powers

Captain California (Captain California) - He owns a flying surfboard called "Surfy" and has a "mega smile" that blinds opponents and works like a laser beam.
Glorious Gal (Glory) - Has superhuman strength and the ability to fly; occasionally he may receive mental images of an ongoing crime.
Misty magic (Misty) - Cast spells that produce flames and often have unforeseen consequences.
Weather (Storm) - He is able to control and change the climate, although he often makes some mistakes.
Punk rock (Punk) - He plays devastating rock music on his guitar.
Rex Ruthless (Rex) - He can activate an arsenal of sophisticated gadgets with the pressure of his belt buckle.
Dirty Trixie (Trixie) - She uses a large number of tricks and devices that she keeps hidden in her pockets.
Bratman (name not changed or named) - When he complains, beating his fists on the ground, it causes earthquakes.
